Fantasy Pick: Brent Burns
As good as he is defensively, Brent Burns cannot be overlooked as an offensive threat. He possesses some of the quickest feet and hands on the Wild, along with a blistering shot he's willing to fire at any time. Thankfully for the Wild, Burns hasn't held back from showcasing his offensive talent this season.
Burns leads all Minnesota defensemen with 20 points (9-11=20) in 30 games and ranks second among all NHL blueliners with nine goals. He's had a stellar end to the year with eight points (3-5=8) in December, tying him for fourth among all league defensemen in scoring for the month.
He's also been hot lately, totaling five points (2-3=5) in his last five games. In his eighth NHL season, Burns is on pace to break his career high in goals, assists and points, set in 2007-08 when he totaled 43 points (15-28=43) in 82 games.
