D Cam Barker’s first goal in 48 games came 46 seconds into overtime after LW Pierre-Marc Bouchard forced the extra session with 25.6 seconds left, C Mikko Koivu tied a franchise record with four assists in his 400th game and D Brent Burns notched a goal and two assists, as the Minnesota Wild earned a dramatic 6-5 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes in front of 17,240 at Xcel Energy Center. LW Andrew Brunette tallied two goals and an assist, and D Nick Schultz and D Brent Burns added a goal each for Minnesota, which begins a three-game trip at New Jersey on VERSUS Tuesday.

D Cam Barker registered his first career overtime winner, and his first in 48 games since his first game with the Wild, Feb. 14, 2010, against Vancouver.

C Mikko Koivu, playing in his 400th NHL game, tied a franchise record and personal best with four assists to give him 201 in his career. Koivu was also a career-best plus-four.

LW Andrew Brunette recorded his 17th career multiple goal game, including second this season, and he added an assist on Bouchard’s goal late in regulation. Both of Brunette’s two-goal games this season have come against Phoenix, and three total in his career. Brunette now has nine goals this season. Brunette scored his 52nd PPG with the Wild – seven off Marian Gaborik’s team record. Brunette is four points away (110-186=296) from joining Gaborik as the only players in team history with 300 points.

D Brent Burns scored his 12th goal this season and added two assists. This marked is third career three-point game, first since Dec. 31, 2008, against San Jose. Burns is second amongst NHL defensemen in goals, and is just three off his own team record.

D Nick Schultz scored his third goal this season – his most since tallying a career-high six in 2003-04. Schultz has four points (1-3=4) in his last five games.

The Wild is 6-2-2 against the Pacific Division this season, already eclipsing its win total from all of last year against the Pacific (5-14-1).

Minnesota improved to 4-1 in overtime this season. Phoenix is 0-5.

Phoenix is 1-1-1 against the Wild, but 5-0-0 versus the remainder of the Northwest Division.

The Wild surrendered four goals in a third period for just the fifth time in team history – second time at home. The last time also came against Phoenix, in a 6-4 loss in Glendale Jan. 16, 2010.

Minnesota outscored its opponent by two or more goals in the second period for the third time this season. The Wild entered the game minus-15 (40-25) in second period scoring this season.

Minnesota tied a season-high, allowing 44 shots on goal. It also happened Nov. 19 at Detroit – also an overtime win.
