Post Game Notes vs. Los Angeles - Feb. 1
G Niklas Backstrom made 27 saves for his second shutout in four starts and stopped all three shootout attempts, and RW Pierre-Marc Bouchard scored his second career shootout winner, as the Minnesota Wild defeated the Los Angeles Kings, 1-0, in front of 17,504 at Xcel Energy Center. Backstrom snapped a seven-shootout winless streak for Minnesota, which improved to 5-1-0 in its last six and plays at Colorado on Thursday.  G Jonathan Bernier made 25 saves and was credited with second career shutout for Los Angeles.

LW Andrew Brunette became the 261st player – eighth this season – to skate in 1,000 NHL games. Brunette ranks second in franchise history in goals, power play goals (54) and points, third in games played and game-winning goals (16) and fourth in assists.

G Niklas Backstrom made 27 saves and improved to 7-3-0 in his last 10 starts, and 16-11-3 this season. Backstrom has two shutouts in four starts since returning from injury, and has three this season and 22 for his career. Backstrom also stopped all three shootout attempts, snapping a streak of seven straight shootout losses since his last win, Dec. 4, 2009, against Anaheim. Backstrom improved to 12-23 lifetime in shootouts.

RW Pierre-Marc Bouchard improved to 4-for-14 all-time in shootouts, and registered his second career shootout winner.

The Wild played its first 0-0 game through regulation since a 1-0 shootout win at Tampa Bay on Oct. 18, 2008. The last time it happened at home was March 27, 2007, against Calgary, a 1-0 shootout loss.

The Wild improved to 7-4-2 against the Pacific Division this season and has already claimed more victories against the Pacific than it did all last year (5-14-1).

The Wild has points in five of its last six games against the Kings (4-1-1), including all three this season, after going 0-4-1 in the previous five.

Ten of the past 15 games between the Wild and Kings have been decided by one goal and six have gone to overtime, including all three games this season.

C Matt Cullen had his five-game assist streak snapped.

The Wild is 8-2-0 all-time in its first game after the All-Star/Olympic break and a perfect 5-0-0 at home.

Minnesota improved to 1-4 in shootouts, and won for just the second time in its last 10 shootout attempts. Los Angeles fell to 5-1 in shootouts this season.
