Fantasy Pick: Pierre-Marc Bouchard
There have been a lot of reasons for the Wild's stellar play in the last two months, but you can't ignore the fact that Minnesota's climb up the standings conincided with the return of Pierre-Marc Bouchard to the Wild lineup.
It's not to say that his teammates haven't picked up their game recently, but Butch's return on Dec. 1 is certainly one of the main reasons the team finds itself in playoff position. Since his return from a concussion that kept him out of the lineup for basically a year and a half, the Wild is 16-9-3.
Bouchard's impact was felt immediately as he returned to the ice, but he has been especially impressive lately. He's led the Wild in scoring during the team's current 6-1-0 stretch, totaling eight points (3-5=8). Butch scored the game winner in the shootout Tuesday against the Kings and tallied the game-winning goal again Thursday in Denver.
Bouchard also has three points (1-2=3) against tonight's opponent, the Phoenix Coyotes, in three games this season. On the year, Bouchard has totaled 18 points (5-13=18) in 28 games for the Wild.
