Postgame Notes vs. Colorado - Feb. 9
G Niklas Backstrom made 23 saves and RW Martin Havlat took over the team lead with his 15th goal, as the Minnesota Wild edged the Colorado Avalanche, 3-2, in front of a sellout crowd of 18,194 at Xcel Energy Center. RW Antti Miettinen and C John Madden added a goal apiece and C Matt Cullen chipped in two assists for Minnesota, which improved to 7-2-0 in its last nine games.
G Niklas Backstrom made 23 saves to improve to 3-1-0 in his last four starts. In that stretch, Backstrom has posted a 1.23 GAA and a .960 SV%.

RW Martin Havlat scored his fifth goal in his last nine games. Havlat took the team lead with 15 goals this season – three off his total from 2009-10.

C Matt Cullen provided two assists, giving him nine points (2-7=9) in his last eight games played. The Wild is 7-1-0 in that stretch. Cullen now has a pair of two-assist games this season, the other coming Oct. 16 versus Columbus.

RW Antti Miettinen scored his 10th goal to give the Wild eight double-digit goal scorers this season, as many as Minnesota had in the 2009-10 season.

C John Madden scored his eighth goal of the season – just two off his total from last year in Chicago.

RW Cal Clutterbuck picked up his 10th assist. Clutterbuck has new career-highs this season in goals (14), assists (10) and points (24).

D Jared Spurgeon recorded his second assist in 24 games this season. Both have come in his last four games played.

Ten of last 14 meetings between the Wild and Avalanche have been decided by one goal. Looking back at the past 21 games, 15 have been decided by one goal.

The Wild saw its home shutout streak snapped at 141 minutes, one second, dating back to a third-period goal against Colorado on Jan. 14.

Minnesota went 4-for-4 on the penalty kill and is 12-for-12 over the last four games.

The Wild has won its last five games against divisional opponents and is 12-4-1 against Northwest foes this season.

Minnesota snapped a two-game home losing streak to Colorado but is still 11-3-2 in the last 15 home meetings.

The Wild improved to 22-3-2 when scoring three or more goals and 24-2-4 when scoring first.
