Wild Prospects Report - Feb. 15


HOUSTON AEROS (32-20-1-3, 1st in West Division) –
TThe Aeros went 3-1-0-0 this past week, beating Texas 4-1 on Tuesday, Rockford 4-1 on Wednesday, and Peoria 4-3 in a shootout on Friday before falling to Peoria 3-1 at Xcel Energy Center on Sunday. C Patrick O’Sullivan (3-2=5) and RW Jon DiSalvatore (0-5=5) notched five points each this past week while C Cody Almond added four points (2-2=4). G Anton Khudobin went 2-1-0-0 with a 2.29 GAA and a .928 SV%. Overall, Disalvatore leads the team with 36 points (11-25=36) in 56 games. Khudobin owns a team best 18 wins while G Matt Hackett leads with a 2.42 GAA. Each net minder holds a .915 SV%. This week the Aeros host Chicago on Thursday then plays at Milwaukee on Friday and at Rockford on Saturday.

Canadian Hockey Leagues

LW Brett Bulmer - Kelowna (WHL):
Second round pick (39th overall) in 2010 Draft notched an assist last week to end a four-game pointless streak and up his season point total to 47 (18-29=47) in 54 games. He ranks second on Kelowna in assists and points.   

D Josh Caron - Kamloops (WHL): The 2010 free agent signing tallied his first goal and point of the season last week in a 6-1 victory. He now has a goal through 16 games. He missed 41 games earlier in the season with a broken collar bone. 

LW Kris Foucault - Calgary (WHL): The fourth round pick (103rd overall) in the 2009 Draft is atop the Calgary scoring charts with 38 points (18-20=38) after posting three points (2-1=3) in a 4-1 win on Saturday.  

D Colton Jobke - Kelowna (WHL): The 2010 free agent signing returned to the lineup on Friday after missing six gmaes with a knee injury. He has a goal and seven assists and a +3 rating through 39 games. 

D Bjorn Krupp - Belleville (OHL): The 2009 free agent signing has tied his point total of 11 from last season with a goal and 10 assists. 

RW Dylen McKinlay - Chilliwack (WHL): The seventh round pick (189th overall) in the 2010 NHL Draft posted an assist last week to bring his point total to 17 on four goals and 13 assists in 38 games.  
   
College/USHL

C Anthony Hamburg - Omaha (USHL): The seventh round pick (193rd overall) in the 2009 Draft left Colgate University after playing seven games and notching three assists. He has joined Omaha of the USHL where he's played 12 games and scored 10 points (4-6=10). He was named the Lancers' Old Chicago Player of the Month for January.    

LW Erik Haula - Minnesota (WCHA): The seventh round pick (182nd overall) in 2009 scored a goal in both games against Denver last weekend, and added two helpers in Saturday's game. He co-leads the Gophers with 15 assists, and is tied for third in scoring with 20 points. He's a +8 on the season.

D Sean Lorenz - Notre Dame (CCHA): Fourth round pick (115th overall) in 2008 picked up his seventh assist on the season last weekend. He's also tallied four goals, and is second on Notre Dame with a +21 rating.

D Kyle Medvec - Vermont (HE): Fourth round pick (102nd overall) in 2006 picked up his second goal of the season last week in a 7-2 upset of Maine. He's totaled six points (2-4=6) thus far this season.

F Jason Zucker - Denver (WCHA): Second round selection (59th overall) in 2010 Draft scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in Denver's 2-1 win over Minnesota on Friday. He had an assist the following night as well. Zucker ranks first in WCHA play with 18 goals, and he also has 13 assists for 31 points. He's twice been named the WCHA Freshman of the Week.

International

F Mikael Granlund - HIFK Helsinki (Finland):
The first round selection (ninth overall) in 2010 was off last week. He now owns six goals and 18 assists from 24 points in 28 games. He missed 21 games with an injury.

RW Johan Larsson - Brynas (Sweden): The second round selection (56th overall) in the 2010 Draft led Sweden to a perfect 4-0 record in the U-19 Five Nations Tournament, racking up 10 points (4-6=10), which tied for the tournament lead. He served as captain of Sweden. In Swedish Elite League play, Larsson has six points (3-3=6) and is a +4 in 35 games. He had previously totaled 15 points (6-9=15) in 10 games with the Brynas junior team.    

F Jere Sallinen - Blues Espoo (Finland): The sixth round selection (163rd overall) in the 2009 Draft was off last week. He has tallied four goals and seven assists and is a +4 in 45 Finnish Elite League games.

Goaltenders

Dennis Endras - Augsberger (Germany):
The 2010 free agent signing was off last week. He owns a record of 18-17-4 with a .897 save percentage and a goals against average of 3.23.   

Johan Gustafsson - VIK (Sweden): The sixth round pick (159th overall) in the 2010 Draft dropped two games last week and currently owns a 2.35 goals against average and a .910 save percentage.

Darcy Kuemper - Red Deer (WHL): The sixth round pick (161st overall) in 2009 went 2-1 last week, stopping 63 of 64 shots in the victories. He also posted his 11th shutout on the season while no other WHL goalie has more than four. He leads the league in every goaltending category including: wins (36-10-3), goals against average (1.87), save percentage (.933) and shutouts. He has been named the CHL Goalie of the Week three times and the WHL Player of the Week once. He was the WHL Goalie of the Month in January.
