C Jonathan Toews notched a goal and two assists, RW Patrick Sharp had a goal and a helper and G Corey Crawford made 24 saves, as the Chicago Blackhawks topped the Minnesota Wild 4-2 in front of an overflow sellout crowd of 19,155 at Xcel Energy Center. LW Martin Havlat had a goal and an assist, D Brent Burns scored his new personal-best 16th goal and G Niklas Backstrom made 30 saves for Minnesota, which begins a two-game New York road trip at the Islanders on Wednesday.

D Brent Burns scored his 16th goal of the season, a new personal-best and also a new team record for goals by a defenseman. Burns set the mark originally in 2007-08.

RW Martin Havlat scored a goal to reach 20 goals for the sixth time in his career, and also added an assist. The tally marked Havlat’s fourth goal in six games. He leads the Wild in goals (20) and points (54) and is tied for first in assists (34). The Wild fell to 13-2-3 when he scores a goal and 23-12-3 when he registers a point.

RW Cal Clutterbuck posted a helper and has 12 points (5-7=12) in his last 17 games.

The overflow sellout crowd of 19,155 marked the team’s 16th sellout of the season and third largest crowd this season. It’s also tied for the seventh largest regular-season crowd in club history.

G Niklas Backstrom made 30 saves, allowing three or more goals in two straight starts for the first time since Dec. 26-Dec. 29. Backstrom has lost two straight decisions for the first time since an 0-3-1 streak Nov. 20-Dec. 3.

The Wild allowed three or more goals in a period for the ninth time this season – five times in the second period.

Chicago has won its last three games at Xcel Energy Center, since surrendering a four-goal, third-period lead in a 6-5 Wild shootout win Jan. 9, 2010.

Minnesota lost at home in regulation for just the second time in nine games (6-2-1).
