Post Game Notes vs. Edmonton - Mar. 31
RW Antti Miettinen and D Marek Zidlicky scored 35 seconds apart in the first period to propel the Minnesota Wild to a 4-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers in front of a sellout crowd of 18,120 at Xcel Energy Center. C Matt Cullen reached the 500 point mark while LW Pierre-Marc Bouchard tallied his 300th point. G Niklas Backstrom made 33 saves for Minnesota, which hosts Tampa Bay on Saturday.

The Wild won its 16th consecutive home game against Edmonton to tie the longest current home win streak by one team over another, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. Nashville has won 16 straight at home versus Columbus.

The Wild has outscored the Oilers by a combined score of 58-21 during the streak, last losing 2-1 on Jan. 16, 2007.

C Matt Cullen became the eighth Minnesotan born player to record 500 career points (181-319=500) when he assisted on the Wild’s first goal. The Moorhead native has played 953 games in 13 NHL seasons.

LW Pierre-Marc Bouchard also reached a milestone as he registered his 300th career point (87-213=300) with a first period assist in his 480th game.

D Brent Burns picked up his 44th point (16-28=44) of the season to set a new career-high and a Wild franchise-record for points in a single season by a defenseman. He set the previous record of 43 in 2007-08, which was matched by D Marek Zidlicky last season.

RW Brad Staubitz tallied his second goal of the season, both of which have come in the past six contests, after going 79 consecutive games without scoring a goal.
The Wild received points from 12 different skaters.

The Wild power play continued its success against Edmonton, going 1-for-5 with the man advantage. In five games versus the Oilers this year, the Wild power play has converted at a 38.1% rate (8-for-21).

After losing eight straight games (0-7-1), the Wild has now posted consecutive wins for the first time since a three-game streak Feb. 9 –12.
