Wild Prospects Report - Oct. 26

HOUSTON AEROS (4-1-2, 10 pts, 1st in West Division) –  The Aeros went 2-0-1 last week, winning 3-2 (10/21) and losing 2-1 in a shootout (10/22), both at Charlotte, then winning 3-1 vs. Grand Rapids (10/23). Casey Wellman (1-2=3), Jon DiSalvatore (1-2=3) and Justin Fontaine (1-2=3) led in points last week with three each. Wellman and DiSalvatore registered points in all three games of the weak, while Fontaine (10/23) and Jeff Taffe (10/21) both notched a two-point game. Dennis Endras earned his first win of the season against Grand Rapids, saving 31 of 32 shots. Matt Hackett saved 33 shots in both games he played, and currently owns a 1.75 GAA and a .942 SV%. This week, Houston has a few days off before playing three games straight. The team travels to San Antonio on Friday then plays at home vs. Oklahoma City on Saturday and Charlotte on Sunday.

Canadian Hockey Leagues

D Josh Caron - Kamloops (WHL): The 2010 free agent signing has picked up three assists through 11 games and leads his team with 40 penalty minutes. He is a +6 on the season. 

C Tyler Graovac - Ottawa (OHL): The seventh round pick (191st overall) in the 2011 Draft has been chosen to represent Team OHL against Russia in the 2011 SUBWAY Super Series. He is averaging a point per game through nine contests with three goals and six assists. He is a +5 so far this season.

D Colton Jobke - Regina (WHL): The 2010 free agent signing put up a goal and an assist in a win on Sunday and now owns three goals and two assists in 12 games. He ranks second on the club with a +7 rating.

C Zack Phillips - Saint John (QMJHL): The first  round pick (28th overall) in the 2011 NHL Draft ranks second on the Sea Dogs in scoring with eight goals and 11 assists through 12 games. He is also a +14 on the year.

C Charlie Coyle - Boston University (Hockey East): San Jose's first round pick in 2010 (28th overall) has put up five assists in four games thus far this season and now leads the Terriers in assists. He has posted two multiple-point games this season.

C Anthony Hamburg - Omaha (USHL):
The seventh round pick (193rd overall) in the 2009 Draft has been held without a point through four games.

LW Erik Haula - Minnesota (WCHA): The seventh round pick (182nd overall) in 2009 is tied for the lead in national scoring with 14 points on five goals and nine assists in six games. He is a +8 on the season.

D Sean Lorenz - Notre Dame (CCHA): Fourth round pick (115th overall) in 2008 scored a game-winning goal and was +3 in a Friday night win over RPI. He now owns two goals and two assists in five games.

LW Mario Lucia - Penticton (BCHL): Second round pick (60th overall) in 2011 Draft has racked up 10 goals and 16 assists for 26 points in just 13 games. He ranks second in the League and on his team in points and is tied for the league lead in assists. He is currently on an 11-game point streak.

D Nick Seeler - Muskegon (USHL): Fifth round pick (131st overall) in 2011 has scored one goal in six games thus far.

F Jason Zucker - Denver (WCHA): Second round pick (59th overall) in 2010 Draft leads Denver with eight points in four games on three goals and five assists. He posted five points this past weekend against Mankato, including a two goal, one assist performance on Saturday night.


Jonas Brodin - Farjestads BK Karlstad (Sweden): The first round selection (10th overall) in the 2011 Draft has posted two assists through 15 games and leads his team with a +6 rating.

F Mikael Granlund - HIFK Helsinki (Finland):
The first round selection (ninth overall) in 2010  leads his team and the League with 14 assists in 15 games. He's also added six goals to total 20 points.

D Bjorn Krupp - Cologne (Germany): The 2009 free agent signing has notched three assists through 11 games.

RW Johan Larsson - Brynas (Sweden): The second round selection (56th overall) in the 2010 Draft has five goals and six assists in 15 games. He ranks tied for the team lead in goals and fourth in scoring.


Johan Gustafsson - Lulea HF (Sweden): The sixth round pick (159th overall) in the 2010 Draft has shared goaltending duties and has played eith of the team's 15 games. He owns a 2.58 goals against average and a .900 save percentage.

Stephen Michalek - Harvard (ECAC): The sixth round pick (161st overall) in 2011 is with Harvard, which has yet to begin regular season play. He saw action in an exhibition game and made 12 saves on 15 shots.
