Wild Prospects Report - Nov. 23


HOUSTON AEROS (10-3-5, 25 pts, 3rd in West Division) –  The Aeros went 1-0-2 last week, losing 3-2 in OT vs. Texas (11/18), winning 5-1 at Texas (11/19), and losing 1-0 in a SO vs. Abbotsford (11/20). RW Jon DiSalvatore is tied for the AHL’s second-longest point streak on the season, scoring 13 points in nine games (10/21-11/6). RW Casey Wellman ranks fifth in the league in goals and he and DiSalvatore rank 14th and 13th in scoring respectively. G Matt Hackett saved a combined 55 shots in two games and now ranks 12th in the league in GAA and SV%. This week the Aeros play Texas at home (11/25) and away (11/26) followed by a game at Lake Erie (11/30).

Canadian Hockey Leagues
   

LW Brett Bulmer - Kelowna (WHL): Bulmer was reassigned to Kelowna by the Wild on November 7 and has averaged better than a point per game since his return. In seven games, he's posted three goals and seven assists. He has an assist in each of the last three games and is a +7 thus far this season.

D Josh Caron - Kamloops (WHL): The 2010 free agent signing has picked up six assists through 19 games and leads his team with 83 penalty minutes. He is a +9 on the season. 

C Tyler Graovac - Ottawa (OHL): The seventh round pick (191st overall) in the 2011 Draft has put up 12 points (4-8=12) in 16 games thus far this season. Earlier in the month, he represented Team OHL in the 2011 SUBWAY Super Series.

D Colton Jobke - Regina (WHL): The 2010 free agent has put up eight points on four goals and four assists in 22 games.

C Zack Phillips - Saint John (QMJHL): The first  round pick (28th overall) in the 2011 NHL Draft has notched at least one point in each of the last 17 games dating back to October 14. On Sunday, he put up four assists. He now has 43 points (15-28=43) in just 24 games and ranks fifth in the QMJHL in points.
   
College/USHL

C Charlie Coyle - Boston University (Hockey East): San Jose's first round pick in 2010 (28th overall) is averaging a point per game with 11 (2-9=11) in 11 contests. He's tied for the team lead in assists and is a +10.

C Anthony Hamburg - Omaha (USHL):
The seventh round pick (193rd overall) in the 2009 Draft has notched a goal and four assists through 14 games.

LW Erik Haula - Minnesota (WCHA): The seventh round pick (182nd overall) in 2009 picked up two assists over the weekend to up his point total to 20 (7-13=20) in 14 games. He ranks tied for fourth in the nation in scoring and leads all Gophers in assists. 

D Sean Lorenz - Notre Dame (CCHA): Fourth round pick (115th overall) in 2008 upped his point total to six (2-4=6) over the weekend with a pair of assists. He is a +2 on the season.

LW Mario Lucia - Penticton (BCHL): Second round pick (60th overall) in 2011 Draft represented the United States Junior Select Team at the World Junior A Challenge. Team USA earned a bronze medal with Lucia posting four goals and an assist in five games. He was named to the tournament All-Star team. In 19 games with Penticton this season, he's averaged better than two points per game with 15 goals and 25 helpers. He ranks tied for third in the league in scoring.

D Nick Seeler - Muskegon (USHL): Fifth round pick (131st overall) in 2011 has put up six points (2-4=6) through 14 games in his first USHL season.

F Jason Zucker - Denver (WCHA): Second round pick (59th overall) in 2010 Draft has put up five points (2-3=5) over the last three games and leads the Pioneers with six goals in 11 games. he's also added nine assists and has posted six multi-point games.

International

D
Jonas Brodin - Farjestads BK Karlstad (Sweden): The first round selection (10th overall) in the 2011 Draft owns three assists in 23 games and is a team-leading +5.

F Mikael Granlund - HIFK Helsinki (Finland):
The first round selection (ninth overall) in 2010 leads his team in scoring and assists with 26 points (7-19=26) in 22 games. He helped Team Finland earn silver at the Karjala Cup and was named to the First All Star team.

D Bjorn Krupp - Cologne (Germany): The 2009 free agent signing has notched three assists through 16 games.

RW Johan Larsson - Brynas (Sweden): The second round selection (56th overall) in the 2010 Draft has put upsix  goals and 12 assists for 18 points in 23 games. He ranks second on the team in scoring and assists.

Goaltenders

Johan Gustafsson - Lulea HF (Sweden): The sixth round pick (159th overall) in the 2010 Draft  is tied for the League lead with four shutouts and ranks sixth in the SEL with a .924 save percentage. He also owns a 1.86 goals against average through 14 games.

Darcy Kuemper - Ontario (ECHL): Has posted a 5-1-0 record and ranks second in the League with a 1.81 goals against average. His .932 save percentage is third best in the League.

Stephen Michalek - Harvard (ECAC): The sixth round pick (161st overall) in 2011 is 3-2-0 as a freshman with Harvard and owns a 3.07 goals against average and a .900 save percentage.
