Houston Aeros (17-6-9, 43 points, 2nd place in the West Division, 2nd most points in AHL) - The Houston Aeros played twice last week, going 1-1-0. After a 3-2 loss vs. Texas (12/21), the Aeros won on the road, beating San Antonio 2-1 in OT (12/26). C Chad Rau led with three points on the week (2-1=3), while he, RW Jon DiSalvatore and RW Justin Fontaine each posted multiple-point games. C Jeff Taffe scored the winning goal in OT (12/26). G Matt Hackett played both games, stopping a combined 42 shots for a .913 SV%. He now ranks sixth in the AHL in GAA (2.23). This week, the Aeros will face off at San Antonio (12/30) before heading home to play Oklahoma City on New Year’s Day.

Canadian Hockey Leagues
LW Brett Bulmer - Kelowna (WHL): The 2010 second round pick ranks second on the team in scoring with 28 points (14-14=28) through 19 games. He's posted at least one point in each of the last 10 games, compiling 11 goals and five assists over that stretch. He's a +8 on the season.
D Josh Caron - Everett (WHL): The 2010 free agent signing was traded to Everett after playing 20 games with Kamloops and registering six assists and a +9 rating. In seven games with Everett, he has yet to register a point, but ranks second in the WHL with 107 penalty minutes.
C Tyler Graovac - Ottawa (OHL): The seventh round pick (191st overall) in the 2011 Draft returned to the ice on December 17 after missing 11 games with sickness/injury. He owns 12 points (4-8=12) through 17 games and is a +2.
D Colton Jobke - Regina (WHL): The 2010 free agent put up two goals and an assist over the last two games, including two goals on December 18. He has tallied nine goals and nine assists through 36 games. He leads the team with seven power play markers.
C Zack Phillips - Saint John (QMJHL): The 2011 first rounder signed an entry-level contract with the Wild on December 19. He's racked up 54 points in 32 games on 19 goals and 35 assists. He has at least one point in all but three games this season. His +30 rating ranks tied for second in the QMJHL and his 35 assists rank tied for fourth.
C Charlie Coyle - Boston University (Hockey East): San Jose's first round pick in 2010 (28th overall) is currently representing Team USA at the World Junior Championships. In the team's first game against Denmark, he posted a hat trick in an 11-3 win. Team USA will face Finland on Wednesday afternoon. Coyle will play for Saint John of the QMJHL following the World Junior tournament.
C Anthony Hamburg - Omaha (USHL): The seventh round pick (193rd overall) in the 2009 Draft has two goals and seven assists through 24 games this season.
LW Erik Haula - Minnesota (WCHA): The seventh round pick (182nd overall) in 2009 ranks second on the team and tied for seventh in the nation in scoring with 25 points (9-16=25) in 20 contests. He is a +12 on the year and has put up eight multiple point games.
D Sean Lorenz - Notre Dame (CCHA): Fourth round pick (115th overall) in 2008 has scored eight points (2-6=8) in 19 games and leads the team with 19 blocked shots.
LW Mario Lucia - Penticton (BCHL): Second round pick (60th overall) in 2011 Draft ranks second in the League in scoring with 60 points (26-34=60) in 31 games. He's scored four goals over the last two games.
D Nick Seeler - Muskegon (USHL): Fifth round pick (131st overall) in 2011 has put up nine points (2-7=9) in 21 games.
F Jason Zucker - Denver (WCHA): Second round pick (59th overall) in 2010 Draft is representing Team USA at the World Junior Championships for the third straight year, and was named the team's captain. in the team's 11-3 win over Denmark on Monday, Zucker notched a goal and two assists. Zucker leads Denver in scoring with 24 points (11-13=24) in 18 games thus far this season.
D Jonas Brodin - Farjestads BK Karlstad (Sweden): The first round selection (10th overall) in the 2011 Draft is currently representing Team Sweden at the World Junior Championships. In Sweden's 9-4 win over Latvia, Brodin registered two assists. Sweden will face Switzerland on Wednesday night.
F Mikael Granlund - HIFK Helsinki (Finland): The first round selection (ninth overall) in 2010 is currently representing Finland at the World Junior Championships as the team captain. He was held without a point in the team's first game, an 8-1 loss to Canada.
D Bjorn Krupp - Cologne (Germany): The 2009 free agent signing has notched seven assists through 29 games.
RW Johan Larsson - Brynas (Sweden): The second round selection (56th overall) in the 2010 Draft is representing Sweden at the World Junior Championships and was named the team's captain. He tallied one assist in Sweden's 9-4 win over Latvia on Monday.
Dennis Endras - HIFK (Finland): Played six games with Houston of the AHL, going 3-2-1 before being assigned to HIFK in the Finnish League. In six games with HIFK, he's 4-2-0 with a 1.51 goals against average and a .943 save percentage.
Johan Gustafsson - Lulea HF (Sweden): The sixth round pick (159th overall) in the 2010 Draft is representing Team Sweden at the World Junior Championships. He was in goal for Sweden's 9-4 win over Latvia, making nine stops.
Stephen Michalek - Harvard (ECAC): The sixth round pick (161st overall) in 2011 is 4-2-2 after stopping 31 shots in a 4-3 win over Princeton on Dec. 10. He owns a 3.10 goals against average and a .898 save percentage.
