Post-Game Notes vs. San Jose - Jan. 10
C Matt Cullen scored a goal in his 1,000th NHL game and added his seventh career game-deciding shootout tally, G Josh Harding made 34 saves, and RW Cal Clutterbuck, C Warren Peters, RW Nick Johnson each scored a goal, as the Minnesota Wild earned a 5-4 shootout victory over the San Jose Sharks in front of a sellout crowd of 18,986 at Xcel Energy Center. D Justin Falk and RW Casey Wellman each supplied a career-high two assists for Minnesota, which handed the Sharks just their second loss in 13 games (8-2-3). The Wild begins a two-game road trip Thursday in Chicago.
 
C Matt Cullen skated in his 1,000th NHL game, becoming the seventh Minnesotan to accomplish the feat. Cullen, who scored his 11th goal of the season in the third period, has 524 career points (192-332=524). Cullen also scored a shootout goal, moving him to 5-for-9 this season and 17-for-40 all-time. The Wild will honor Cullen, who grew up Virginia, Minn., played college hockey in Moorhead and attended St. Cloud State, with a pre-game ceremony on Hockey Day Minnesota on Saturday, Jan. 21.
 
G Josh Harding made 34 saves to improve to 8-4-2 this season. He had been 0-2-1 in his last three starts, despite allowing a total of five goals. Harding is 7-5 all-time in shootouts after stopping both shots tonight.
 
RW Cal Clutterbuck scored his 11th goal of the season. Eight of his 11 scores this season, and 34 of the 54 in his career, have come at Xcel Energy Center.
 
C Warren Peters scored his first goal in 21 games this season, and his first in 25 games dating back to March 6, 2011, against Buffalo.
 
C David McIntyre, skating in his third career NHL game, picked up his first point, an assist.
 
RW Nick Johnson scored his first goal in 16 games – his fifth of the season.
 
D Justin Falk and RW Casey Wellman each recorded their first career two-assist game.
 
Sharks C Patrick Marleau’s third-period goal marked his 800th NHL point (373-427=800) in 1,074 games.
 
Max Jablonski, younger brother of injured Benilde-St. Margaret’s player Jack Jablonski, was the Wild’s flag-bearer tonight, skating out in his brother’s No. 13 Red Knights jersey.
 
The Wild’s crowd of 18,986 marked the team’s sixth straight sellout.
 
Six of Minnesota’s 12 points (goals, assists) tonight came from players who did not skate for Wild in season opener.
 
Minnesota won when allowing four goals for the first time since Feb. 11, 2011, a 5-4 decision at St. Louis.
 
The Wild is 5-4 in shootouts, while San Jose is 5-2.
