Wild Prospects Report - Jan. 18


Houston Aeros (21-9-9, 51 points, 2nd place in the West Division, T-3rd most points in AHL)
- The Houston Aeros went 2-1-0 last week, winning 3-2 in a SO at Grand Rapids (1/11) and 2-1 at Peoria (1/13) before falling 2-1 at Peoria (1/14). RW Jon DiSalvatore (1-1=2), RW Jed Ortmeyer (2-0=2) and LW Joel Broda (1-1=2) each recorded two points on the week. DiSalvatore scored the SO deciding goal at Grand Rapids, while Broda tallied the game winner at Peoria. G Darcy Kuemper played all three games, saving 87 of 92 shots faced. G Matt Hackett and RW Jon DiSalvatore will represent the Aeros at the AHL All-Star Classic (1/29-1/30). This week, the Aeros host San Antonio twice (1/20, 1/22) and play at Texas once (1/21).

Future Wild Update

Canadian Hockey Leagues
   

LW Brett Bulmer - Kelowna (WHL): The 2010 second round pick put up three points over the last two games, including a goal and an assist on Saturday to bring his scoring total to 36 (19-17=36) in 28 games.

D Josh Caron - Everett (WHL): The 2010 free agent signing has yet to register a point in 16 games with Everett since being traded from Kamloops. His 118 total PIM ranks fourth in the WHL.

C Charlie Coyle - Saint John (QMJHL): San Jose's first round pick in 2010 (28th overall) represented Team USA at the World Junior Championships. In six games, he scored four goals and added one assist as Team USA took seventh place. Coyle is now with Saint John and has scored two goals in two games.

C Tyler Graovac - Ottawa (OHL): The seventh round pick (191st overall) in the 2011 Draft hat totaled 15 points on four goals and 11 assists through 24 games this season. 

D Colton Jobke - Regina (WHL): The 2010 free agent picked up his 10th goal of the season on Sunday and now has 24 points (10-14=24). He leads the team with seven power play goals and is a +6.

C Zack Phillips - Saint John (QMJHL): The 2011 first rounder has scored three goals and three assists over his last four games and has now racked up 61 points in 40 games on 23 goals and 38 assists. He ranks first in the league with a +32 rating, sixth in assists and tied for fifth in overall scoring.
   
College/USHL

C Anthony Hamburg - Omaha (USHL): The seventh round pick (193rd overall) in the 2009 Draft has put up five points (2-3=5) in the last five games and now owns 14 points (4-10=14) through 30 games.

LW Erik Haula - Minnesota (WCHA): The seventh round pick (182nd overall) in 2009 tallied an assist in a weekend split with North Dakota, bringing his point total to 28 (10-18=28) in 25 games. He ranks second on the team and tied for 13th in the nation in scoring. He is a +14 on the year.

D Sean Lorenz - Notre Dame (CCHA): Fourth round pick (115th overall) in 2008 picked has now scored 12 points (2-10=12) in 23 games.

LW Mario Lucia - Penticton (BCHL): Second round pick (60th overall) in 2011 Draft ranks tied for third in the League in scoring with 66 points (28-38=66) in 36 games. He's scored four goals over the last two games.

D Nick Seeler - Muskegon (USHL): Fifth round pick (131st overall) in 2011 picked up an assist on Saturday and upped his point total to 12 (2-10=12) in 27 games.

F Jason Zucker - Denver (WCHA): Second round pick (59th overall) in 2010 Draft represented Team USA at the World Junior Championships for the third straight year, and was named the team's captain. In six games, he registered seven points on three goals and four assists as Team USA took seventh. He returned to Denver over the weekend and registered two goals and three assists in a weekend sweep of Bemidji State. He ranks second on the team in scoring with 29 points (13-16=29) in 20 games.

International

D
Jonas Brodin - Farjestads BK Karlstad (Sweden): The first round selection (10th overall) in the 2011 Draft represented Team Sweden at the World Junior Championship. He has notched four assists in helping Sweden win the gold medal. In 32 games with Farjestad, he has picked up five assists and leads the team with a +5 rating.

F Mikael Granlund - HIFK Helsinki (Finland):
The first round selection (ninth overall) in 2010 represented Finland at the World Junior Championships as the team captain. He led the team and finished tied for second in tournament scoring with two goals and nine assists for 11 points. Finland took fourth place after falling to Canada in the bronze medal game. He is now back with HIFK where he has 41 points (17-24=41) in 33 games. He ranks third in the League in scoring and assists.

D Bjorn Krupp - Cologne (Germany): The 2009 free agent signing has notched seven assists through 34 games.

RW Johan Larsson - Brynas (Sweden): The second round selection (56th overall) in the 2010 Draft represented Sweden at the World Junior Championships and was named the team's captain. He led the team in assists with six as Sweden won the gold medal. He has returned to Brynas where he's posted seven goals and 16 assists in 32 contests. He ranks tied for third on the team in assists and fourth in scoring.

Goaltenders

Dennis Endras - HIFK (Finland): Played six games with Houston of the AHL, going 3-2-1 before being assigned to HIFK in the Finnish League. In 14 games with HIFK, he's 8-5-1 with a 2.07 goals against average and a .929 save percentage. He posted his first shutout of the season on December 27.

Johan Gustafsson - Lulea HF (Sweden):
The sixth round pick (159th overall) in the 2010 Draft represented Team Sweden at the World Junior Championships. He posted five wins, including a shutout of Russia in the gold medal game. Now with Lulea HF, he owns a 1.93 goals against average and a .921 save percentage.

Stephen Michalek - Harvard (ECAC): The sixth round pick (161st overall) in 2011 is 4-5-5 on the year with a 3.28 goals against average and a .891 save percentage.
