Wild Prospects Report - Jan. 25


Houston Aeros (21-9-12, 54 points, 2nd place in the West Division, T-4th most points in AHL)
- The Houston Aeros went 0-1-2 last week, losing once in OT to San Antonio (1/20) and twice in a SO, vs. Texas (1/21) and vs. San Antonio (1/22). RW Casey Wellman posted his first three-point game of the season with two goals and an assist (1/22). Both Wellman (2-2=4) and RW Justin Fontaine (2-2=4) collected four points on the week. C Mike Radja (2-1=3) and C Jeff Taffe (0-3=3) contributed three points. G Matt Hackett saved 58 of 64 shots in two starts for a .906 SV% and saved three of six SO attempts. G Darcy Kuemper saved 45 of 48 shots for a .938 SV% and two of five in the SO. This week the Aeros play back-to-back road games, at Oklahoma City (1/27) and at San Antonio (1/28). Hackett and RW Jon DiSalvatore will represent the Aeros at the AHL All-Star Classic (1/29-1/30).

Future Wild Update

Canadian Hockey Leagues
   

LW Brett Bulmer - Kelowna (WHL): The 2010 second round pick has scored points in 22 of his 31 games and has now totaled 37 points (19-18=37) on the year.

D Josh Caron - Everett (WHL): The 2010 free agent signing has yet to register a point in 18 games with Everett since being traded from Kamloops. His 124 total PIM ranks sixth in the WHL.

C Charlie Coyle - Saint John (QMJHL): San Jose's first round pick in 2010 (28th overall) has played four games for Saint John since departing Boston University. He's scored five goals and added one assist and is a +4. He scored 14 points at Boston University on three goals and 11 assists.

C Tyler Graovac - Ottawa (OHL): The seventh round pick (191st overall) in the 2011 Draft has scored a goal and three assists during his four-game point streak. He's now scored five goals and added 13 assists through 27 games and owns a +8 rating.

D Colton Jobke - Regina (WHL): The 2010 free agent ranks tied for sixth on his team in scoring with 24 points. He's scored 10 goals, including seven on the power play, and has notched 14 assists. He's a +4 on the season.

C Zack Phillips - Saint John (QMJHL): The 2011 first rounder registered two goals and an assist on Sunday, bringing his point total to 64 (25-39=64) in 42 games. His 39 assists rank sixth in the League, and his point total ranks tied for fifth. He leads Saint John with a +37 rating.
   
College/USHL

C Anthony Hamburg - Omaha (USHL): The seventh round pick (193rd overall) in the 2009 Draft has put up six points (3-3=6) in the last six games and now owns 15 points (5-10=15) through 31 games.

LW Erik Haula - Minnesota (WCHA): The seventh round pick (182nd overall) in 2009 owns 28 points (10-18=28) through 27 games and now ranks second on the team and tied for 16th in the nation in overall scoring. He's posted nine multi-point games.

D Sean Lorenz - Notre Dame (CCHA): Fourth round pick (115th overall) in 2008 scored his third goal of the season on Friday against Michigan and now owns 13 points (3-10=13) in 25 games and is a +2.

LW Mario Lucia - Penticton (BCHL): Second round pick (60th overall) in 2011 Draft ranks tied for second in the League in scoring with 69 points (29-40=69) in 38 games. He's averaging 1.8 points per game, which is tied for the League lead.

D Nick Seeler - Muskegon (USHL): Fifth round pick (131st overall) in 2011 has posted 12 points (2-10=12) in 29 games.

F Jason Zucker - Denver (WCHA): Second round pick (59th overall) in 2010 Draft has put up two goals and three assists over his last two games. He now ranks second on the team and tied for 14th in the nation in scoring with 29 points (13-16=29) in 20 games.

International

D
Jonas Brodin - Farjestads BK Karlstad (Sweden): The first round selection (10th overall) in the 2011 Draft leads his team with a +4 rating through 34 games. He's registered five assists on the year.

F Mikael Granlund - HIFK Helsinki (Finland):
The first round selection (ninth overall) in 2010 has racked up 19 goals and 24 assists for 43 points in 35 games. He now ranks third in the league in scoring and fourth in assists. He is a +19 on the season. 

D Bjorn Krupp - Cologne (Germany): The 2009 free agent signing has notched seven assists through 37 games.

RW Johan Larsson - Brynas (Sweden): The second round selection (56th overall) in the 2010 Draft scored a goal last week to up his point total to 24 (8-16=24) in 34 contests. He ranks fourth on the team in assists and points.

Goaltenders

Dennis Endras - HIFK (Finland): Played six games with Houston of the AHL, going 3-2-1 before being assigned to HIFK in the Finnish League. In 15 games with HIFK, he's 8-6-1 with a 2.14 goals against average and a .927 save percentage with one shutout.

Johan Gustafsson - Lulea HF (Sweden):
The sixth round pick (159th overall) in the 2010 Draft ranks third in the league with a 1.84 goals against average and sixth with a .926 save percentage.

Stephen Michalek - Harvard (ECAC): The sixth round pick (161st overall) in 2011 is 4-5-7 on the year after making 32 saves in a 2-2 tie at Colgate on Friday. He owns a 3.09 goals against average and a .895 save percentage.
