Wild Prospects Report - Feb. 8


Houston Aeros (23-13-12, 58 points, 2nd place in the West Division)
- The Houston Aeros went 2-2-0 last week, winning 3-1 vs. Texas (2/2) and 5-4 in a shootout vs. Lake Eerie (2/4) before falling 2-1 vs. Milwaukee (2/5) and 2-1 at Chicago (2/7). D Chay Genoway netted three goals on the week including the game winner vs. Texas. RW Jon DiSalvatore and RW Justin Fontaine both contributed three helpers. G Matt Hackett started in each game, allowing nine goals on 108 shots. He ranks 10th in the league in GAA (2.41) and 11th in SV% (.918). This week the Aeros continue an 11-game road stretch, playing at Grand Rapids (2/10, 2/11) and Milwaukee (2/14).

Canadian Hockey Leagues   

LW Brett Bulmer - Kelowna (WHL):
The 2010 second round pick ranks third  on his team in scoring with 39 points (20-19=39) in 34 games. He's posted nine multi-point games this season and is a +6.

D Josh Caron - Everett (WHL):
The 2010 free agent signing notched his first two points with Everett with a pair of assists on Friday. He's played 23 games since being traded from Kamloops, where he totaled six assists.

C Charlie Coyle - Saint John (QMJHL):
San Jose's first round pick in 2010 (28th overall) has at least one point in every game since joining Saint John. Through eight games, he's put up six goals and four assists. He's a +4 on the season.

C Tyler Graovac - Ottawa (OHL):
The seventh round pick (191st overall) in the 2011 Draft has put up 18 points (5-13=18) through 32 games and is a +4 on the season.

D Colton Jobke - Regina (WHL):
The 2010 free agent ranks eighth on his team in scoring with 24 points in 53 games. He's scored 10 goals, including a team-leading seven on the power play, and has notched 14 assists.

C Zack Phillips - Saint John (QMJHL):
The 2011 first rounder now ranks seventh in the league in scoring with 67 points (26-41=67) through46  games. He leads the League with a +38 rating.
   
College/USHL

C Anthony Hamburg - Omaha (USHL):
The seventh round pick (193rd overall) in the 2009 Draft has put up eight points (4-4=8) over the last 10 games to boost his point total to 17 (5-12=17) in 35 games.

LW Erik Haula - Minnesota (WCHA):
The seventh round pick (182nd overall) in 2009 has accumulated 11 goals and 19 assists in 29 games to rank second on the team in scoring. He's posted nine multi-point games and is a +13 on the season.

D Sean Lorenz - Notre Dame (CCHA):
Fourth round pick (115th overall) in 2008 owns 13 points (3-10=13) in 29 games and ranks second on the team with 32 blocked shots.

LW Mario Lucia - Penticton (BCHL):
Second round pick (60th overall) in 2011 Draft has piled up 74 points (30-44=74) in just 42 games to rank third in the league in scoring. He's averaging 1.8 points per game as Penticton has won a league record 30 straight games.

D Nick Seeler - Des Moines (USHL):
Fifth round pick (131st overall) in 2011 was traded to Des Moines after posting two goals and 13 assists in 32 games with Muskegon. In two games with Des Moines, he's posted a goal and an assist.

F Jason Zucker - Denver (WCHA):
Second round pick (59th overall) in 2010 Draft had a four-game scoring streak snapped on Friday before notching an assist on Saturday. He's posted 14 goals and 19 assists through24  games to rank second on the team and tied for 14th in the nation in scoring. He's registered 10 multi-point games.

International

D Jonas Brodin - Farjestads BK Karlstad (Sweden):
The first round selection (10th overall) in the 2011 Draft ranks fifth on his team with a +5 rating through 40 games. He's registered five assists on the year.

F Mikael Granlund - HIFK Helsinki (Finland):
The first round selection (ninth overall) in 2010 has racked up 46 points (19-27=46) in 40 games. He ranks tied for second in the league in scoring and second in goals. He leads the team with a +20 rating.

D Bjorn Krupp - Cologne (Germany):
The 2009 free agent signing has notched seven assists through 41 games.

RW Johan Larsson - Brynas (Sweden):
The second round selection (56th overall) in the 2010 Draft notched picked up a goal and two assists last week, to bring his point total to 30 (9-21=30) in 37 games. He ranks third on the team in scoring and tied for second in assists.

Goaltenders

Dennis Endras - HIFK (Finland):
Played six games with Houston of the AHL, going 3-2-1 before being assigned to HIFK in the Finnish League. He is 10-6-3 with HIFK, ranking seventh in the league in save percentage (.926) and goals against average (2.15).

Johan Gustafsson - Lulea HF (Sweden):
The sixth round pick (159th overall) in the 2010 Draft ranks fourth in the league with a 1.86 goals against average and fifth a .926 save percentage.

Stephen Michalek - Harvard (ECAC): 
The sixth round pick (161st overall) in 2011 is 6-6-8 as a true freshman with Harvard with a 3.07 goals against average and a .898 save percentage.
