Post-Game Notes vs. Vancouver - March 19
G Josh Harding made 33 saves for his sixth career shutout, C Kyle Brodziak had a goal and an assist and C Erik Christensen scored his fourth goal in as many games, leading the Minnesota Wild past the Northwest Division-leading Vancouver Canucks 2-0 at Xcel Energy Center. The Wild closes out a five-game homestand Thursday against Calgary.
G Josh Harding made 33 saves for his sixth career shutout – second this season. Harding won for the first time since Jan. 21, having gone 0-4-1 with a 4.06 GAA and a .874 SV% since. Harding is 8-3-1 with a 2.04 GAA and a .932 SV% at home this season. He improved to 2-4-0 all-time against the Canucks, with a 2.55 GAA and a .913 SV%. Harding became the first Wild netminder to blank the Canucks since Anton Khudobin on Jan. 16, 2011, making 32 saves in a 4-0 win.
C Kyle Brodziak notched a goal and an assist, giving him five points (2-3=5) in his last two games. Brodziak’s 39 points (19-20=39) are a career-high, bettering the 37 he had last season.
C Erik Christensen scored his fourth goal in as many games, after not recording a point in his first 15 games with the Wild.
Minnesota scored the first goal for the second time in 13 games.
The Wild held both Daniel and Henrik Sedin without a point for the first time since Jan. 16, 2011. Daniel had a seven-game point streak versus the Wild, with 13 points (4-9=13) in that span.
The Wild snapped a three-game skid versus the Canucks, improving to 2-6-1 in the last nine meetings.
The Wild went 1-for-3 on the power play and is 2-for-5 in the last two games, following an eight-game stretch without a PPG (0-for-21).
Vancouver was 0-for-1 on the power play. The Wild is a perfect 8-for-8 on the PK in the last five games.
The Wild snapped a five-game home losing streak, winning at Xcel Energy Center for the first time since Feb. 26.
The Canucks lost in regulation to a Northwest Division foe for just the fourth time this season (14-4-1).
