The Houston Aeros (8th seed in Western Conference) visit the Oklahoma City Barons (1st seed in Western Conference) in Game 3 of the AHL’s Western Conference Quarterfinals on Sunday (7:00 p.m. CT) at Cox Convention Center. OKC leads the best-of-five series 2-0.

OVERVIEW
The Houston Aeros (8th seed in Western Conference) visit the Oklahoma City Barons (1st seed in Western Conference) in Game 3 of the AHL’s Western Conference Quarterfinals on Sunday (7:00 p.m. CT) at Cox Convention Center. OKC leads the best-of-five series 2-0.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The Aeros are 9-9 in Game 3 AHL playoff action with a 6-3 road record.

Houston is 7-7 all-time when facing elimination in AHL playoff action.

Cody Almond has the lone Houston goal in the series.

Houston’s roster has 11 players (Bagnall, Penner, Scandella, Almond, DiSalvatore, Bulmer, Palmer, Rau, McMillan, Broda, Hackett) who saw ice time with the club in the 2011 playoffs.

This is the first time the Aeros and Barons have met in the playoffs.

Five of the eight games in the season series were decided by one goal.

Ryan Keller scored twice for the Oklahoma City Barons in a 4-1 win over the Houston Aeros in Game 2 of the AHL's Western Conference Quarterfinals Friday night at Toyota Center. The Barons took a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five series.

HOU went 1-4-0-3 against the Barons (1-1-0-2 at home, 0-3-0-1 on the road) during the regular season… All-time HOU is 10-5-0-3 (5-2-0-2, 5-3-0-1 road) during the regular season… HOU PP went 4/47… OKC PP went 10/31… OKC had a pair of SHG.

GOALIE HEAD-TO-HEAD
Matt Hackett appeared in two games for HOU vs. OKC in the regular season (0-2-0, 4.54 GAA, .862 SV%)… Yann Danis appeared in all eight games vs. HOU (7-0-1, 1.32 GAA, .946 SV%).

SERIES NOTABLES
OKC’s 21 shots on goal in the second period of Game 1 were one short of a team record for shots against in one postseason period.

HOU’s 14 shots on goal in Game 1 was a postseason low for the franchise, while the three first period shots were also a franchise low.

The Barons have outscored the Aeros 5-0 in the second period with a 27-9 shot advantage.

AEROS PLAYER NOTES
Game 1 of the HOU/OKC series was the 45th AHL playoff game for Drew Bagnall and the 44th for Jon DiSalvatore.

Jon DiSalvatore led the Aeros with 61 points (28-33=61) in the regular season. He led the team in goals and PPG (13) and was the only Aero to play in all 76 games. DiSalvatore represented the Aeros at the AHL All-Star Classic and was also a Second Team AHL All-Star.

Justin Fontaine was second in team scoring (16-39=55) and led the team in assists. His totals place him in the top-5 in Aeros-AHL single season rookie seasons scoring.

Jeff Taffe was third in team scoring (18-35=53) and led the club with 21 power play assists.

Chay Genoway was named the team’s winner of the IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year award for his outstanding contributions to the Houston community during the 2011-12 season.

Drew Bagnall registered career-highs in points and assists (2-12=14).

The Minnesota Wild made 54 recalls from Houston this season involving 22 different players.

The Aeros made 186 transactions during the regular season, involving 56 different players, both new team records.

A total of 52 different players saw ice time with the Aeros during the regular season.
 
TEAM NOTABLES
Houston earned at least a point in 23 of the 41 games (12-18-3-8) in which they have allowed the first goal and was 23-7-2-3 when scoring first.

The Aeros played 40 games that were decided by one goal (15-9-5-11).

AEROS GOALIES
BRODEUR --- Has a 40-37-6 record in 102 AHL games with four shutouts, a 2.85 GAA and a .907 SV%... Has appeared in seven NHL games, all with the Ottawa Senators, posting a 3-1-0 record with one shutout and 2.17 GAA and .922 SV%... The 6-foot-2, 186-pound Calgary native was selected to the Canadian all-star team for the 2009 AHL All-Star Classic… Joined the Aeros from the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL (2 GP, 1 SOL, 2.82 GAA, .882 SV%)… A seventh-round selection (211th overall) of the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft… Was a member of the Binghamton Senators during the 2010-11 season but was injured during the team’s run to the Calder Cup.

HACKETT – Went 9-10-5 (2.52 GAA/.910 SV%) at home and 11-7-1 (2.29,/.925 SV%) on the road… Won six-straight road starts from Oct. 28-Dec. 30…  Was 3-5-0 with a 2.30 goals against average (GAA) and a .927 save percentage (SV%) in 11 games with the Wild this season… Hackett is ranked second for the most games played by a goalie in Houston's AHL history, with 89 games played... Hackett is second on the all-time saves list in Houston's AHL history with 2,222 saves, trailing Josh Harding's 3,270 saves... Hackett is also third in wins with 43, fifth in minutes and second in total shots… Tied an AHL record by appearing in 24 games during last season’s postseason run.

POWER PLAY
HOU is 0/7 in the series… Went 4/20 (20%) in games 71-76…  Went 6/44 (13.6%) in games 61-70… Went 8/38 in games 51-60 (21.1 %)… Went 8/43 in games 41-50 (18.6%)… Went 7/38 (18.4%) in games 31-40…  Went 5/37 (13.5%) in games 21-30… Went 20/106 (18/9%) in games 1-20… Set a season-high going 3/5 in a 4-2 win at SAN on Oct. 28… Tied the 3/5 mark on March 10 vs. GR… Went 3/4 vs. SA on April 14.
