Wild Prospects Report - Sept. 19



The Wild reassigned 25 players to the Houston Aeros on Sept. 14, including: C David McIntyre, RW Carson McMillan,  RW Jarod Palmer, D Drew Bagnall, C Joel Broda, D Jonas Brodin, RW Brett Bulmer, D Josh Caron, D Brian Connelly, RW Charlie Coyle, D Tyler Cuma, RW Justin Fontaine, LW Kris Foucault, D Chay Genoway, C Mikael Granlund, G Matt Hackett, D Colton Jobke, D Steven Kampfer, G Darcy Kuemper, LW Johan Larsson, D Kyle Medvec, C Zack Phillips, C Chad Rau, D Marco Scandella and LW Jason Zucker.

Canadian Hockey Leagues

LW Raphael Bussieres - Baie-Comeau (QMJHL): The Wild’s second-round pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft posted two goals on six shots in two preseason games with Baie-Comeau. Baie-Comeau starts the regular season on Friday, Sept. 21, hosting Gatineau.

D Matt Dumba - Red Deer (WHL): Minnesota’s first-round selection in this summer’s Draft skated in one preseason game with Red Deer, as the Rebels open the regular season hosting Calgary on Friday, Sept. 21.

C Tyler Graovac - Ottawa (OHL): Netted a goal as the 67’s swept a two-game preseason match-up with Gatineau. Set to start his fourth season with Ottawa when the 67’s host Barrie on Thursday, Sept. 20.

College/USHL

D John Draeger - Michigan State (CCHA): The Wild’s third-round selection in this summer’s NHL Entry Draft is set to start his collegiate hockey career when Michigan State hosts Windsor on Oct. 8.

RW Adam Gilmour - Muskegon (USHL): Minnesota’s fourth-round pick in June’s Draft has played in one preseason game with the Lumberjacks, who start the regular season against Team USA on Sept. 29.

RW Anthony Hamburg - RIT (AHA): Begins his first year with Rochester Institute of Technology after playing seven games with Colgate University in 2010-11. The Tigers host Ottawa in an exhibition to start the season on Oct. 8.

LW Erik Haula - University of Minnesota (WCHA): Starts Junior season with the Gophers. Ranked No. 1 in the country, Minnesota opens play when they host Lethbridge on Oct. 6.

LW Mario Lucia - Notre Dame (CCHA): Suffered a broken leg before the start of his first season with the Irish and is out indefinitely.

LW Louis Nanne - Penticton (BCHL): Notched an assist in four games to start his first season with the Vees.

D Nick Seeler - Nebraska Omaha (WCHA): The Wild’s fifth-round selection from the 2011 NHL Entry Draft is set to start his freshman season with the Mavericks with an exhibition against Lethbridge on Oct. 8.

International

RW Christoph Bertschy - SC Bern (Swiss): Played in both of Bern’s opening games as the team sits in the middle of the standings for the Swiss National League A.

D Daniel Gunnarsson - Lulea HF (SEL): Played in both games for Lulea as the team starts its season in the Swedish Elite League.

Goaltenders

Johan Gustafsson - Lulea HF (SEL): Has won both starts, stopping 32-of-35 shots to start the season.

Stephen Michalek - Harvard (ECAC): Set to begin his sophomore season after being named to the ECAC All-Rookie Team during his first campaign. Harvard opens the season with an exhibition against McGill on Oct. 19.
