Wild Prospects Report - Jan. 30

Houston Aeros 2012-13 Record: 21-15-4-3, 49 points, Third Place in South Division

The Houston Aeros, the Minnesota Wild’s American Hockey League affiliate, climbed the standings last week by piling up three wins before the AHL All-Star Break.

Last Wednesday, the Aeros earned a 3-2 win against the Admirals in Milwaukee. C David McIntyre and LW Jason Zucker scored for Houston before RW Nick Petersen netted the game winner. G Darcy Kuemper made 26 saves to earn the win.

The Aeros finished off the first half of the season with a weekend sweep of the Griffins in Grand Rapids. In a 1-0 victory Friday night, Kuemper stopped all 28 shots he faced to earn the shutout and RW Justin Fontaine scored the lone goal of the evening. On Saturday, the Aeros earned a 5-2 win with help from F Charlie Coyle’s two goals and Kuemper’s 33 saves.

Zucker tallied a goal and assist for the Western Conference during the West’s 7-6 victory over the East in the AHL All-Star Game Monday night in Providence.

This week, the Aeros host the Texas Stars Friday at 7:05 p.m. CT, Rockford Sunday at 12:05 p.m. and San Antonio at 7:05 p.m. Monday, before going on the road to visit Grand Rapids Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Canadian Hockey Leagues

LW Raphael Bussieres - Baie-Comeau (QMJHL): The Wild’s second-round pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft did not skate last week. In 43 games, he has 47 points (20-27=47) and is plus-19.

D Mathew Dumba - Red Deer (WHL): Minnesota’s first-round pick in June’s NHL Entry Draft was a healthy scratch in the Wild’s first four games before being reassigned to Red Deer Sunday. Before joining the Wild, the defenseman had 23 points (10-13=23) in 43 games with Red Deer.

C Tyler Graovac - Belleville (OHL): Totaled a plus4 rating in three games with Belleville last week. He has 44 points (24-20=44) in 38 games.

D Colton Jobke - Regina (WHL): Did not skate for the Pats last week. He has played in 25 games, scoring two goals and 14 assists.

College/USHL

D John Draeger - Michigan State (CCHA): Skated in the Spartans’ weekend split versus Penn State over the weekend. The freshman has five points (1-4=5) in 26 games.

RW Adam Gilmour - Muskegon (USHL): Minnesota’s fourth-round selection in the June’s NHL Entry Draft totaled four points (2-2=4) and a plus-2 rating in three games with the Lumberjacks last week. In 39 games, he has 33 points (14-19=33) and a plus-16.

LW Erik Haula - University of Minnesota (WCHA): Totaled a goal and assist in a split with Minnesota State over the weekend. Leads the Gophers in points (31) and assists (20). Minnesota is ranked No. 1 in the country.

LW Mario Lucia - Notre Dame (CCHA): Netted four points (1-3=4) in Notre Dame’s weekend split versus Ferris State. He has 16 points (8-8=16) in 17 games. Notre Dame is ranked No. 11 in the country.

LW Louis Nanne - Penticton (BCHL): Notched an assist in two victories with Penticton last week. Nanne has 27 points (13-14=27) in 34 games. Penticton is the No. 2 ranked team in the BCHL with a record of 30-11-0-3

D Nick Seeler - Nebraska Omaha (WCHA): Skated in the Mavericks’ two wins at Bemidji State on the weekend. The defenseman has 7 points (2-5=7) in 23 games. Nebraska-Omaha is ranked No. 14 in the country.

International

RW Christoph Bertschy - SC Bern (Swiss): Skated in two games last week. Bertsch has three goals and two assists in 34 games for Bern of the Swiss Elite League.

D Daniel Gunnarsson - Lulea HF (SEL): Skated in three games with Lulea last week. Has 12 points (6-6=11) in 43 games.

Goaltenders

Johan Gustafsson - Lulea HF (SEL): Allowed five total goals in three games last week. Ranks third amongst all Swedish Elite League goalies in goals-against average (1.72 GAA) and fifth in save percentage (.930 SV%), having stopped 652-of-701 shots.

Stephen Michalek - Cedar Rapids (USHL): Allowed two goals during an extra-session loss for Cedar Rapids last week. Has a 3.09 goals-against average, .900 save percentage, and a 7-6-3 record.
