Wild Prospects Report - Feb. 13

Houston Aeros Record: 25-18-4-3, 57 points, Third Place in South Division


The Houston Aeros, the Minnesota Wild’s American Hockey League affiliate, went 3-1-0 in four road games played last week and is 7-3-0 in its last 10 overall.

Houston opened up an eight-game road trip with a 2-0 loss at Grand Rapids last Wednesday. Darcy Kuemper made 23 saves. The Aeros defeated the Milwaukee Admirals 5-2 on Friday night. Justin Fontaine (2-1=3), Carson McMillan (1-1=2), Jason Zucker and Kyle Medvec scored and Matt Hackett made 28 saves. Houston defeated the Rockford IceHogs 2-0 on Saturday night as Kuemper made a season-high 38 saves for his fourth shutout of the season and Larsson and David McIntyre scored. The Aeros earned a 2-1 SO win at the Texas Stars last night. Hackett stopped 36 of 37 shots in regulation and three of four shootout attempts. McMillan scored in regulation and Larsson, Fontaine and Zack Phillips each scored in the shootout. This week, the Aeros continue their eight-game road trip with contests at Rochester on Friday at 6:05 p.m., at Hamilton Saturday at 6 p.m. and at Toronto Monday at 12 p.m.

Kuemper ranked second in the AHL in goals-against average and save percentage and fourth in shutouts at the time of his recall to Minnesota Tuesday. Zucker leads the AHL in shots, ranks second in power-play goals, tied for ninth in goals and is 12th in scoring (second amongst rookies).

Canadian Hockey Leagues

LW Raphael Bussieres - Baie-Comeau (QMJHL): The Wild’s second-round pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft tallied five points (2-3=5) in three games last week to extend his point streak to five games (4-4=8). He now has 55 points (24-31=55) in 48 games.

D Mathew Dumba - Red Deer (WHL): Minnesota’s first-round pick in June’s NHL Entry Draft tallied four points (1-3=4) in three games last week. The defenseman has 29 points (12-17=29) in 48 games with Red Deer.

C Tyler Graovac - Belleville (OHL): Netted four points (3-1=4) in two games with Belleville last week. He has 50 points (27-23=50) in 43 games.

D Colton Jobke - Regina (WHL): Did not skate for the Pats last week. He has played in 25 games, scoring two goals and 14 assists.

College/USHL

D John Draeger - Michigan State (CCHA): Skated in Michigan State's split a weekend series against Bowling Green. The freshman has five points (1-4=5) in 30 games.

RW Adam Gilmour - Muskegon (USHL): Minnesota’s fourth-round selection in the June’s NHL Entry Draft leads Muskegon in goals (15), assists (20), points (35) and plus/minus rating (plus-17).

LW Erik Haula - University of Minnesota (WCHA): Recorded four points (2-2=4) in weekend split vs. St. Cloud State. Leads the Gophers in points (35), assists (22) and T-2nd in goals (13). Minnesota is ranked No. 2 in the country.

LW Mario Lucia - Notre Dame (CCHA): Netted an assist in Notre Dame’s weekend sweep of Michigan. Notre Dame is ranked No. 12 in the country. He has 18 points (9-9=18) in 21 games.

LW Louis Nanne - Penticton (BCHL): Scored four goals in two games last week. Nanne has 34 points (17-17=30) in 37 games.

D Nick Seeler - Nebraska Omaha (WCHA): Nebraska-Omaha was swept by North Dakota last weekend. The defenseman has 7 points (2-5=7) and is plus-7 in 24 games. Nebraska-Omaha is ranked No. 15 in the country.

International

RW Christoph Bertschy - SC Bern (Swiss): Bern did not play last week. Bertsch has three goals and two assists in 34 games for Bern of the Swiss Elite League.

D Daniel Gunnarsson - Lulea HF (SEL): Skated in one game with Lulea last week. Has 12 points (6-6=12) and is plus-6 in 44 games.

Goaltenders

Johan Gustafsson - Lulea HF (SEL): Did not play last week. Ranks third amongst all Swedish Elite League goalies in goals-against average (1.73 GAA) and fifth in save percentage (.930 SV%), having stopped 677-of-728 shots.

Stephen Michalek - Cedar Rapids (USHL): Did not start for Cedar Rapids last week. Has a 3.09 goals-against average, .900 save percentage, and a 7-6-3 record.
