Wild Prospects Report - Feb. 20

Houston Aeros Record: 27-19-4-3, 61 points, Third Place in South Division

The Houston Aeros, the Minnesota Wild’s American Hockey League affiliate, went 2-1-0 last week to move to 5-2-0 during their current eight-game road trip.

The Aeros won their fourth straight contest Friday, earning 3-1 victory in Rochester, N.Y. C Carson McMillan led Houston with two goals, while RW Justin Fontaine also scored and G Matt Hackett made 29 saves in the win.

The Aeros suffered their only loss of the week Saturday night in Hamilton, a 4-2 defeat by the Bulldogs. Hamilton forward Michael Bournival registered a hat trick, Fontaine and C Chad Rau scored for the Aeros, and Hackett made 29 saves in the loss.

The Aeros got back in the win column with a Monday afternoon contest in Toronto, topping the Marlies in a shootout, 2-1. Houston was led by Rau’s goal in regulation, Hackett’s 25 saves through overtime and shootout goals from C David McIntyre and RW Nick Petersen.

This week, the Aeros finish off their road trip with a visit to Oklahoma City Friday at 7 p.m., before returning to Houston to finish the home-and-home series with the Barons Saturday at 7:05 p.m.

Wild Prospects Update

Canadian Hockey Leagues

LW Raphael Bussieres - Baie-Comeau (QMJHL): The Wild’s second-round pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft netted three assists in three games last week. He now has 58 points (24-34=58) in 48 games.

D Mathew Dumba - Red Deer (WHL): Minnesota’s first-round pick in June’s NHL Entry Draft tallied four points (1-3=4) in three games for the second straight week. The defenseman has 33 points (13-20=33) in 51 games with Red Deer.

C Tyler Graovac - Belleville (OHL): Totaled four goals, an assist and a plus-5 rating in four games last week, including a hat trick vs. Kingston last Wednesday. He has 55 points (31-24=55) in 47 games.

D Colton Jobke - Regina (WHL): Did not skate for the Pats last week. He has played in 25 games, scoring two goals and 14 assists.


D John Draeger - Michigan State (CCHA): Netted an assist as Michigan State split a weekend series versus Northern Michigan. The freshman has six points (1-5=6) in 32 games.

RW Adam Gilmour - Muskegon (USHL): Minnesota’s fourth-round selection in the June’s NHL Entry Draft netted three points (2-1=3) and a plus-2 rating in two games last week. He leads Muskegon in goals (17), assists (21), points (38) and plus/minus rating (plus-19).

LW Erik Haula - University of Minnesota (WCHA): Recorded two assists in the Gophers’ weekend split with Wisconsin. Leads the Gophers in points (37), assists (24) and T-2nd in goals (13). Minnesota is ranked No. 2 in the country.

LW Mario Lucia - Notre Dame (CCHA): Scored a goal in Notre Dame’s weekend split with Miami. Notre Dame is ranked No. 11 in the country. He has 19 points (10-9=18) in 23 games.

LW Louis Nanne - Penticton (BCHL): Totaled seven points in five games with the Vees. Nanne has 37 points (17-20=37) in 40 games.

D Nick Seeler - Nebraska Omaha (WCHA): Netted an assist during Nebraska-Omaha’s weekend sweep at Alaska Anchorage. The defenseman has 8 points (2-6=8) and is plus-8 in 28 games.


RW Christoph Bertschy - SC Bern (Swiss): Skated in two games with Bern last week. Bertsch has three goals and two assists in 36 games for Bern of the Swiss Elite League.

D Daniel Gunnarsson - Lulea HF (SEL): Posted two assists in two games with Lulea last week. Has 14 points (6-8=14) and is plus-6 in 48 games.


Johan Gustafsson - Lulea HF (SEL): Did not play last week. Ranks fourth amongst all Swedish Elite League goalies in goals-against average (1.73 GAA) and save percentage (.930 SV%), having stopped 677-of-728 shots.

Stephen Michalek - Cedar Rapids (USHL): Did not start for Cedar Rapids last week. Has a 3.09 goals-against average, .900 save percentage, and a 7-6-3 record.
