Wild Agrees To Terms With Defenseman Keith Ballard
The Minnesota native will ink a two-year contract Friday
As Minnesota marks the one-year anniversary of signing Zach Parise and Ryan Suter last Fourth of July, Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the team has agreed to terms on a two-year contract with defenseman Keith Ballard.
The 30-year-old native of Baudette, Minn., has posted 165 points (36-129=165) in 545 games during eight seasons in the NHL. The former Golden Gopher spent the past three seasons with the Vancouver Canucks, having also played with Phoenix and Florida during his career.
Per the NHL's Collective Bargaining Agreement, the 5-foot-11, 208-pound blueliner can agree to terms with the Wild today, but paperwork cannot be officially filed with the NHL until tomorrow. Stay tuned to Wild.com for further details.
