Postgame Notes vs. Montreal - Nov. 1

RW Jason Pominville tallied three points to lead Minnesota to a 4-3 victory over Montreal in front of a sellout crowd of 18,207 fans Friday night at Xcel Energy Center. RW Nino Niederreiter and RW Justin Fontaine also notched goals for the Wild. Next up, Minnesota hosts New Jersey Sunday at 7 p.m. on FOX Sports North and KFAN 100.3 FM.

The Wild moved to 5-1-2 at Xcel Energy Center this season. Minnesota earned its third-ever win against Montreal in Saint Paul and first since Dec. 17, 2005.

G Josh Harding earned his first career win against Montreal, making 28 saves on the night. He moved to 5-0-0 at Xcel Energy Center this season, with a 1.29 GAA and .940 SV%.

RW Jason Pominville netted two goals and an assist for his 27th career three-point game and his first with the Wild. He leads Minnesota with nine goals this season and is tied for the Wild lead with 10 points (9-1=10), including a three-game goal streak (5). His eight goals since Oct. 14 are T-1st in the NHL.

C Mikael Granlund extended his assist streak to four games – setting a career high – with six in that timeframe and a Wild-best 10 helpers in 14 games this season. He now leads the Wild with three multi-point games and is tied for the team lead with 10 points (0-10=10) this season. His seven assists since Oct. 19 are second- most in the NHL (Keith Yandle, 8). Tonight, he surpassed his point total from last season: eight points (2-6=8) in 27 games.

RW Justin Fontaine opened the game’s scoring with his fourth goal 5:45 into the game. He is now T-4th for most goals amongst NHL rookies and ranks third on the Wild in 14 games. He set a career high with five shots in the game.

D Keith Ballard returned to the lineup after missing seven games with an upper-body injury posting two assists – his first multi-point game since March 21, 2010 and 23rd time of his career.

D Marco Scandella skated in his 100th NHL game.

C Charlie Coyle returned to the lineup after missing 11 games with a knee strain, while D Jonas Brodin also returned after missing three games with a broken cheekbone.

RW Brendan Gallagher, D P.K. Subban and RW Brian Gionta scored for Montreal, while G Carey Price made 21 saves in net.
