Wild To Host Wild About Children
The Minnesota Wild will host Wild About Children, presented by West Bend, to benefit the Minnesota Wild Foundation and Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota at 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 9, at the historic Union Depot in downtown St. Paul, catered by Kincaid’s. In its nine-year history, Wild About Children has contributed more than $900,000 to benefit Children’s of Minnesota.
This will be the first time Wild About Children is being held at the Union Depot. More information about Wild About Children can be found at http://www.wild.com/WAC.
The entire Wild roster will serve as celebrity waiters and trade in their jerseys for aprons to wait on the 300 guests expected to attend. The event raises money through several fundraising vehicles, including a silent and live auction.
The Minnesota Wild Foundation exists to support the game of hockey and to improve the lives of families in the State of Hockey.
Last season, the event raised $144,000 for the Minnesota Wild Foundation and Children’s of Minnesota. Two seasons ago, the Wild Foundation followed the lead of Minnesota Wild team captain Mikko Koivu and donated $100,000 from Wild About Children to sponsor two private patient rooms in the new Children’s Neuroscience Center in St. Paul.
Since its inception in 2000, the Minnesota Wild has invested over eight million dollars back into the community. The organization has provided autographed and non-autographed merchandise for local fundraisers and benefits, made contributions to non-profit organizations, implemented successful events and provided awareness and brand connectivity for smaller non-profit organizations.
