LW Dany Heatley scored the game winner 34 seconds into the third period and G Darcy Kuemper made 34 saves to lead the Wild to a 2-1 victory against Tampa Bay in front of a sellout crowd of 18,454 fans Tuesday night at Xcel Energy Center. RW Nino Niederreiter also scored for Minnesota and D Jared Spurgeon tallied two assists in his return from injury. Next up, the Wild plays its final game before the Olympic Break, hosting Nashville Thursday at 7 p.m. CT on FOX Sports North and KFAN 100.3 FM.

The Wild won its fourth straight game in Saint Paul, moving to 20-7-2 at home this season. The Wild has won 16 of its last 22 games and 20 of its last 27 contests on home ice.

D Jared Spurgeon returned to the lineup after missing the last 14 games with a lower-body injury. He tallied two assists, his third multi-point game this season and eighth of his career. He has 14 points (1-13=14) in 44 games.

RW Nino Niederreiter opened the game’s scoring with his 10th goal of the season. He has 10 points (4-6=10) and a plus-4 rating in his last 18 games and has totaled 27 points (10-17=27) in 58 games this season.

LW Dany Heatley scored 34 seconds into the third period to stretch his point streak to a season-best three games (2-2=4). He now has 23 points (11-12=23) in 58 games this season, including two game-winning goals.

G Darcy Kuemper stopped 34-of-35 shots, moving to 7-3-2 this season. He made his 11th consecutive start, a franchise record for most consecutive games played by a rookie goalie (previously four).

D Ryan Suter skated 34:31 of ice time. He’s hit 30:00 TOI in four of the last five games, 14 of the last 25 contests and 28 games this season. He also has 33 points (6-27=33) this season, leading the Wild with 94 blocked shots, including two tonight.

LW Jason Zucker earned his first assist of the season on Niederreiter’s goal and now has five points (4-1=5) in 20 games.

D Jonas Brodin skated in his 100th NHL career game.

C Valtteri Filppula scored for Tampa Bay, while G Ben Bishop made 24 saves for the Lightning.
