Postgame Notes vs. Calgary - March 3

LW Zach Parise scored his fourth game-winning goal this season and 45th career winner as Minnesota earned a 3-2 win against Calgary in front of a sellout crowd of 18,543 fans Monday night at Xcel Energy Center. C Kyle Brodziak and D Jared Spurgeon also scored for Minnesota, while G Darcy Kuemper made 21 saves to earn his fifth straight win. Next up, Minnesota will travel to Dallas for a one-game road trip to face the Stars Saturday at 7:30 p.m. CT on FOX Sports North and KFAN 100.3 FM.

Minnesota set a new season best by winning its fifth straight game. Minnesota moved to 14-4-2, earning points in 11 of its last 13 games (9-2-2).

The Wild has won six consecutive games on home ice, moving to 22-7-2 at Xcel Energy Center this season. Minnesota has won 18 of its last 24 games and 22 of its last 29 contests on home ice.

Minnesota is 6-2-1 in its last nine contests against Calgary. Six of these contests have been decided by one goal and three were determined after regulation.

G Darcy Kuemper made his 15th consecutive start, extending his franchise record for a rookie goalie (previously four). He earned his fifth straight win and 11th victory this season, tying a Wild record for most wins by a rookie goalie in team history (Harding, 11 in 2007-08). Since Jan. 7, Kuemper is 11-2-2 with a 1.70 GAA and a .939 SV% and two shutouts.

C Mikael Granlund used two assists to record his sixth multi-point game of the season and his career. He leads Minnesota with 20 points (4-16=20) in 25 games since returning from injury (12/22). He has 32 points (6-26=31) in 49 games this season.

D Jared Spurgeon scored his second goal of the season to open the third-period scoring. He has five points (1-4=5) in 25 games since returning from injury, totaling 18 points (2-16=18) in 48 games this season.

C Kyle Brodziak opened the game’s scoring with his fifth goal of the season. He has three points (1-2=3) in his last six games and has 19 points (5-14=19) in 62 games this season.

LW Zach Parise netted his 21st goal of the season, earning his 45th career game-winning goal. He has a four-game point streak (3-1=4) and 12 points (6-6=12) in his last eight games and he ranks second on the Wild with 39 points (21-18=39).

RW Jason Pominville tallied an assist on Parise’s goal. He has nine points (3-6=9) in his last 10 games and leads Minnesota with 22 goals and 42 points this season. He’s second on the Wild with 18 points (6-12=18) in the last 25 games (12/22).

D Ryan Suter notched the primary helper on Spurgeon’s goal, earning the team lead with 28 assists this season. He is T-16th amongst all NHL blueliners with 34 points (6-28=34) this season.

LW Matt Cooke assisted on Brodziak’s goal, tallying his 24th point of the season (9-15=24).

C Mikko Koivu and D Marco Scandella returned to the lineup tonight. Koivu missed 17 games due to an ankle fracture while Scandella missed three games with a knee sprain.

C Mike Cammalleri and D Mark Giordano scored for Calgary, while G Reto Berra made 24 saves for the Flames.
