Postgame Notes vs. New York Rangers - March 13

LW Zach Parise scored 1:03 into the third period to lead Minnesota to a 2-1 victory Thursday night at Xcel Energy Center in front of a crowd of 18,885 fans. RW Nino Niederreiter also scored for Minnesota, while G Darcy Kuemper made 29 saves to earn his 12th win of the season – a franchise record for most wins by a rookie goalie. Next up, Minnesota continues its homestand against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday at 7 p.m. CT on FOX Sports North and KFAN 100.3 FM.

Through 66 games, Minnesota has 79 points, tying the franchise record of the 79 points it earned in 2007-08 (37-24-5) and 2006-07 (36-23-7).

Minnesota played in its sixth straight one-goal game (3-1-2) and its 10th one-goal game in its last 11 (6-2-3).

The Wild moved to 15-5-5 in 2014, having earned points in 14 of its last 17 games (10-3-4). Minnesota has earned points in nine consecutive contests at Xcel Energy Center (7-0-2) and is 23-7-4 at Xcel Energy Center this season.

LW Zach Parise scored his 46th career game-winning goal and fifth of the season, tied with Pominville for the Wild lead. The Wild is now 15-2-2 when he scores a goal this season. He’s tallied at least one point in 10 of the last 12 games, totaling 16 points (8-8=16) in that span. He ranks second on the Wild with 43 points (23-20=43) in 51 games this season, missing 15 contests to injury.

RW Jason Pominville earned the primary assist on Parise’s goal to stretch his Wild lead to 46 points (24-22=46) this season. He has 13 points (6-7=13) in his last 14 games. His 24 goals also lead the Wild.

C Mikael Granlund assisted on Parise’s goal. He has 15 points (3-12=15) in his last 14 games and leads the Wild with 23 points (4-19=23) in 29 games since returning from an upper-body injury (12/22). He has totaled 35 points (6-29=35) in 53 games this season.

Since they began playing on Jan. 30 in Colorado, Parise, Pominville and Granlund have combined for 33 points (12-21=33) – a span of 11 games.

G Darcy Kuemper made 29 saves to earn his 12th win of the season – a franchise record for most wins by a rookie goalie (Josh Harding, 11 wins in 2007-08). It was his 20th start of the season as he moves to 12-4-3.

RW Nino Niederreiter opened the game’s scoring with his 12th goal of the season. He has six points (3-3=6) in his last nine games and 32 points in 66 games (12-20=32) during his first season with Minnesota.

C Kyle Brodziak tallied an assist on Niederreiter’s goal. He has three points (2-1=3) in his last five games and 21 points (6-15=21) in 66 games this season.

Minnesota snapped a two-game losing streak against New York on home ice. The Wild moved to 4-2-0 in its last six games against the Rangers and 4-4-1 overall in Saint Paul.

C Derek Stepan scored for New York, while G Cam Talbot made 24 saves for the Rangers.
