Vote On Last Week\'s Top Plays
Last year, wanted help from our fans in the State of Hockey and beyond to help us select the Top Play of the Year. To do so, we needed you to pick the Top Play each week, so we could pit them against each other in the offseason in a single-elimination tournament. Last year's winner was Jason Zucker's first-career goals against Detroit. We had so much fun, we're going to do it again this year.

This season, we're getting help selecting the top play each week from our friends at Dairy Queen. Last week, Charlie Coyle earned his first Play of the Week honor on a penalty shot goal against Detroit. After he was taken down on the rush, Coyle used a beautiful forehand-backhand-forehand dangle to beat Detroit goaltender Jimmy Howard.

This week, Coyle puts in another bid with snipe against Vancouver. Coyle picked up a pass from Mikko Koivu, which banked off the glass, right to the winger’s tape. Coyle gathered himself with a few steps into the zone and fired a shot from the top of the near circle, past netminder Eddie Lack. The goal was Coyle’s third in three games, setting a career mark for the most consecutive games with a goal scored.

Up next, Zach Parise nets a blast off the faceoff to tie his father, JP, for NHL career goals scored. After Koivu kicked the puck back to Parise off the faceoff down in the offensive zone, the left-winger snapped it over the blocker of Phoenix netminder Thomas Griess. While the goal tied his dad’s career mark, Parise surpassed it later in the game with an empty-net goal.

Finally, Jared Spurgeon enters the running this week with the game-winning goal against Phoenix. The blueliner picked up a missed pass off the boards from Mikael Granlund, intended for Jason Pominville. Spurgeon fired a bomb on net and with a beautiful clink of the pipe, put the Wild up 2-1 against the Coyotes for the eventual game-winner.
