Wild Prospects Report - April 9
An updated look at the Wild\'s prospects and how they\'re developing

Iowa Wild 2013-14 Record: 26-31-6-4, 62 points, Fifth Place in Midwest Division

The Iowa Wild, Minnesota Wild’s American Hockey League affiliate, went 1-2-0 last week. The Wild suffered a 6-1 loss against the Grand Rapids Griffins on Wednesday. D Gustav Olofsson tallied the Wild’s lone goal in his first professional game and G Johan Gustafsson made 28 saves. Iowa lost 4-1 against the Milwaukee Admirals on Friday. Phillips scored and Gustafsson stopped 23-of-27 shots. Iowa earned a 4-3 shootout victory Saturday against the Chicago Wolves. D Kyle Medvec (0-2=2) and LW Kris Foucault (2-0=2) led the team with two points apiece while D Dylan Labbe netted the shootout winner. G Cody Reichard made 42 saves through overtime and stopped all six shootout attempts to earn his first win with the club. Winchester leads the Wild with 36 points (19-17=36) this season. Phillips ranks second with 32 points (12-20=32). Gustafsson is 12-19-2 with a 3.00 GAA, a .904 SV% and one shutout in 37 games. Iowa will host Chicago on Friday and Milwaukee on Sunday while visiting Rockford on Saturday this week.

CANADIAN HOCKEY LEAGUES

C Brady Brassart - Calgary (WHL): Signed an ATO with Iowa (4/1). Ranked T-5th in WHL in playoff scoring (3-6=9) in six games as Calgary lost 4-2 in the opening round of the WHL playoffs. Ranked T-15th in the league in scoring (35-50=85) and T-19th in goals (35). Ranked first in power-play goals (11), T-1st on Calgary in points (85) and in assists (50), T-2nd in goals and third in PIM (94) through regular season.

D Matt Dumba - Portland (WHL):
The Wild’s first-round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft ranks sixth on the team with nine points (2-7=9) in eight playoff games as Portland leads Victoria 3-1 in the second round.

RW Kurtis Gabriel - Owen Sound (OHL): The Wild’s third-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft signed an ATO with Iowa (4/1). Recorded assist in five playoff contests as Owen Sound ends its season after a 4-1 series loss to Sault Ste. Marie in the first round of the OHL playoffs. The assistant captain ranked first on the team in assists (35), tied for first in PIM (99) and tied for second in scoring (16-35=51) during the regular season.

D Dylan Labbe - Shawinigan (QMJHL): Minnesota’s fourth-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft joined the Iowa Wild March 29, recording two shots on goal.

RW Zack Mitchell - Guelph (OHL): Ranks T-2nd on Guelph and T-11th in the OHL in playoff scoring with 10 points (2-8=10) in eight games as the Storm leads London 2-1 in the semifinals.

COLLEGE/USHL

D Nolan De Jong - Michigan (Big Ten): The Wild’s seventh-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft and Michigan suffered a 2-1 double overtime loss against Penn State in the Big Ten Quarterfinal round (3/20) to end their season.

D John Draeger - Michigan State (Big Ten): The Wild’s third-round selection in the 2012 Entry Draft tand Michigan State ended its season with a 2-1 overtime loss versus Ohio State in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament (3/20).

C Christian Folin - UMass Lowell (Hockey East): Signed a two-year, entry-level contract with Minnesota (3/31). Sophomore season ended with a 4-3 loss to Boston College in the NCAA quarterfinals. Helped the River Hawks win the Hockey East tournament. Led all River Hawks defensemen and ranked fourth on the team with 20 points.

C Adam Gilmour - Boston College (Hockey East): The Wild’s fourth-round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft and the Eagles won the NCAA quarterfinal round vs. UMass Lowell as Boston College moves to the Frozen Four semifinals against Union April 10. Boston College is 20-3-2 in its last 25 games. Ranks T-4th on team in PPG (4) and fourth in GWG (3).

LW Mario Lucia - Notre Dame (Hockey East): The Wild’s second-round selection in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft recorded assist as Notre Dame fell 4-3 in overtime to St. Cloud State in the NCAA West Regional Semifinal (3/29) to end its season. Ranked T-2nd in power-play scoring (7-5=12) and fourth on the Irish in points (16-15=31).

LW Louis Nanne - Sioux Falls (USHL): Minnesota’s seventh-round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft recorded assist and two PIM as Sioux Falls went 1-1-0 in two games last week.

D Gustav Olofsson - Colorado College (NCHC): The Wild’s second-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft tallied a goal in his first game with Iowa (4/2). He signed three-year entry level contract with Minnesota beginning in the 2014-15 season (3/24).

C Avery Peterson - Grand Rapids (High School): Minnesota's sixth-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft was named USA Today’s All-USA Boys Ice Hockey Player of the Year (4/3). Has earned 13 points (3-10=13) in 15 games with Sioux City since end of high school season

D Nick Seeler - Nebraska Omaha (NCHC): The Wild’s fifth-round selection in 2011 NHL Entry Draft recorded four PIM as Nebraska Omaha went 1-2-0 in the quarterfinal round of the NCHC tournament against Denver. The Mavericks end their season 17-18-2. Named to the NCHC Academic All-Conference Team (3/11). One of four players on the team to net a short handed goal this season and ranked second in PIM (61).

D Carson Soucy - Minnesota Duluth (NCHC): Minnesota’s fifth-round selection in 2013 NHL Entry Draft and Minnesota Duluth ends their season after losing both quarterfinal games against Western Michigan last weekend. The Bulldogs went 16-16-4 overall. Ranked second in PIM (60) and fourth amongst defensemen in scoring (0-6=6).

EUROPE

C Christoph Bertschy - SC Bern (Swiss): The Wild’s sixth-round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft tallied two assists in six playoff games.

D Daniel Gunnarsson - Lulea HF (Sweden): Minnesota’s fifth-round selection in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft ranked fourth on the team in playoff scoring with three points (1-2=3) in five games as Lulea’s season ends with a 4-2 series loss in the quarterfinal round. Ranked second amongst defensemen and ranked T-6th on the team in assists (11) and T-9th in scoring (3-11=14).

GOALTENDERS

Alexandre Belanger - Rouyn-Noranda (QMJHL): The Wild’s seventh-round selection in this summer’s 2013 NHL Entry Draft ranks eighth in playoff GAA in QMJHL. Belanger is 4-4-0 with a 3.56 GAA and a .883 SV% in eight games as Rouyn-Noranda trails Baie-Comeau 3-0 in the second round.

Steve Michalek - Harvard (ECAC): Minnesota’s sixth-round selection in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft and Harvard lost both its matchups over the weekend at Yale in the first round of the ECAC Championship tournament. The Crimson end their season 10-17-4 overall. Earned two shutouts in three starts as Harvard beat Dartmouth, 3-0 (2/7) and Clarkson, 1-0 (2/14).
