Game 6 Postgame Notes vs. Colorado - April 28

LW Zach Parise set a career high with a four-point (2-2=4) playoff game, including the game-winner with 6:29 left in regulation to lead Minnesota to a 5-2 victory in Game 6 Monday night in front of a sellout crowd of 19,314 fans at Xcel Energy Center. LW Zach Parise and C Mikael Granlund scored in the first period, while RW Jason Pominville and D Marco Scandella scored empty-net goals. G Darcy Kuemper made 21 saves in the win. The teams will meet in a deciding Game 7 in Denver Wednesday, time TBD.

The Wild now has an all-time record of 3-1 in its sixth game of a series. Minnesota is 8-5 all-time in elimination games.

LW Zach Parise used two goals and two assists to register his first career four-point playoff game, including his fourth career playoff winner. He netted the game’s opening goal, scoring 0:49 into the first. The goal set a new franchise record for fastest Wild goal to start a playoff game, surpassing Richard Park (3:20, 5/5/03 at VAN). He also extends his career-best playoff point streak to six games (3-7=10) and marks a new career-high for most points in a single series. His 10 points lead the Wild and he has 54 points in 72 playoff contests (25-29=54).

D Ryan Suter assisted on both of Parise’s goals and now has four points this series (1-3=4) and 17 points (6-11=17) in 50 career playoff games.

C Mikko Koivu assisted on both of Parise’s goals. He ranks second on the Wild in points and assists this series with four. He has 10 points (5-5=10) in 22 career playoff games.

C Mikael Granlund scored Minnesota’s second goal, extending his point-streak to four games (2-2=4).

RW Jason Pominville assisted on Granlund’s goal and registered an empty-net goal to earn his first marker of the series. He has tied a career-best four-game playoff point streak (1-4=5). He has collected 33 points (13-20=33) in 53 playoff games during six postseasons with Buffalo and Minnesota.

D Marco Scandella netted his second goal of the series and has three points (2-1=3) through six games this postseason. He has five points (3-2=5) in 11 career playoff games.

G Darcy Kuemper made his fourth career playoff start making 21 saves. He has stopped 99-of-106 shots in parts of five games, including 54-of-57 in Saint Paul. He became the first Wild goalie to record a shutout in Game 3, stopping all 22 shots faced.

C Paul Stastny and D Nick Holden scored for Colorado, while G Semyon Varlamov made 18 saves.
