Milestone Moments: Harding Named Third Star of November
After a strong performance in the month of November, goaltender Josh Harding became the first Wild player to earn the NHL\'s Star of the Month honors

As we reflect back on the Wild’s 2013-14 season, we’ll take a look at some of the biggest individual milestones members of the Wild achieved. Next up, we look at a standout performance in net.

Though he started the season second on the depth chart, Josh Harding got a chance in net early and seized hold of the starting spot after Niklas Backstrom was sidelined with an injury.

After posting an 8-2-2 record with a 1.88 goals-against average and a .926 save percentage over 12 games in the month of November, Harding became the Wild’s first player to earn the NHL’s Star of the Month honors as he was named the Third Star of the Month. He also earned Third Star accolades for the week of Nov. 18 after going 3-0-0 in three games with a 1.38 goals-against average and a .939 save percentage.

Harding soon became one of the staunchest netminders in the NHL, posting league-leading numbers that held through the remainder of the season, despite not playing the second half due to his battle with multiple sclerosis. Through 29 games played in the 2013-14 season, his 1.65 goals-against average and .933 save percentage each remained the best in the League at the end of the regular season.

The netminder wasn’t the only Wild player to earn a Star of the Week honors this season. Jason Pominville was named the First Star for the Week ending on Nov. 4 after posting four goals and six points to lead the NHL in scoring that week.

Ryan Suter picked up the Third Star of the Week on Jan. 6 after tallying four goals and two assists with a plus-6 rating. It was also the same week he netted his first career hat trick.

Zach Parise also earned First Star honors for the week ending on Feb. 2. He led the NHL that week with eight points (3-5=8) and was named Team USA’s Captain that week as well.

Finally, another netminder garnered some attention from the League as Darcy Kuemper was named the Third Star of the Week ending on March 2. The young goaltender went 2-0-0 on the week while stopping 51 of 52 shots for a 0.48 goals-against average and a .981 save percentage.
