HOSTS Mentoring Program

altDuring the last six years Minnesota Wild Front Office staff members have volunteered once a week mentoring students at elementary schools in St. Paul.  Schools that have partnered with MSE in years passed include, Cherokee Heights Elementary, Hancock Hamline University Magnet, and Open School.

This year, Front Office staff is working with Horace Mann Elementary in St. Paul.  Each mentor is matched with a student and the HOSTS teacher provides an easy to read lesson plan for mentor and student to work on together during the 30-minute period.

In 2004 the Minnesota Wild were awarded the Champion for Children Award in recognition of their efforts to promote reading among young people.
