Wild.com has selected LW Guillaume Latendresse as the Minnesalsa Player of the Week for March 8 through March 14, making him the first back-to-back winner this season. Latendresse went scoreless in the first two games of the week, but helped the Wild win its last two games by scoring a goal in each. On Friday, Latendresse notched an unassisted marker by intercepting a Patrick Lalime pass and throwing it into the vacated net from a shallow angle. He followed that up on Sunday with the game-winner in a 4-2 win over the St. Louis Blues. Latendresse leads the Wild with 25 goals on the year, 23 of which have come since coming over to Minnesota in a November trade.
This is Latendresse’s fourth win of the coveted pepper this season, giving him a commanding lead for the overall season win with just four weeks remaining.
For the remainder of the season, a Wild.com panel will be selecting the Minnesalsa Player of the Week. The player selected as the player of the week will win the Minnesalsa pepper for the week. We will keep track of the standings right here on Wild.com.
