Fraser proudly serves thousands of individuals and families in the upper Midwest each year, transforming their lives and helping them achieve their potential. Fraser's reach is vast, including mental health services, rehabilitation services, housing, education, and child care. Our innovative programs and highly skilled professionals provide evaluation, direct services, information, and support for individuals diagnosed with different disabilities and disorders.
A high prevalence of autism spectrum disorders means thousands of Minnesota families need direct-care and support services. As the longest-running largest provider of autism services in Minnesota, Fraser provides diagnosis, treatment and support services to hundreds of children, adolescents and adults with autism spectrum disorders and their families. Autism is the fastest-growing developmental disability in the U.S. affecting 1 in 110 children. Autism is more common than juvenile diabetes, childhood cancer and AIDS combined. Fraser is a leading provider of autism services at a time when the need is critical.
Fraser chose to be the charity of the month in April to promote autism awareness. April 2nd is World Autism Day. A great way to help raise awareness and funds for Fraser autism services is by joining the Fraser Walk for Autism on Saturday, April 17, 2010, at Mall of America. The Fraser Walk for Autism is a family-friendly event with something for everyone. Participants are encouraged to form a team of family, friends, co-workers—anyone who cares about autism. Come participate in the indoor walk and experience sensory activities such as a ball pit and trampoline, dance performances, music, games and lots of entertainment. Meet friends, window shop and get some exercise while raising money for our local community’s most urgent need – autism services.
Fraser was founded in 1935 and is a pioneer, serving thousands of children and adults with cognitive and developmental disabilities and their families each year. Fraser serves people with more than 60 different types of disabilities including autism spectrum disorders, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy and emotional/behavioral disorders. At Fraser, we put people first. Our service philosophy centers around partnering with the client and family in all processes including the design, implementation, improvement and evaluation of programs and services.
