WILD ABOUT READING SUPPORTS "I LOVE TO READ MONTH" IN FEBRUARY
The goal of the Wild About Reading program is to promote the importance of reading and increase student literacy by encouraging kids to read outside the classroom. Since its inception in 2003, more than 86,000 students from over 1,600 schools throughout the state of Minnesota have participated in the Wild About Reading program.
The 2012-2013 Wild About Reading program offers materials for educators in support of National “I Love to Read Month” by providing elementary school teachers in K-6 classrooms with downloadable Wild About Reading Weekly Rally Posters throughout the month of February. Each week the Wild About Reading Rally Poster will encourage kids to keep reading by offering a fun reading goal for students to take on. K-6 elementary school classroom teachers are encouraged to register to have a weekly rally poster delivered to them directly via email every Friday in February and to be eligible to chosen at random to receive a classroom reading visit. For those who choose not to register, a new weekly Wild About Reading Rally poster will be available to download on Wild.com each Monday in February. Wild About Reading Rally Posters can be printed and posted in classrooms to keep kids motivated to read throughout “I Love to Read Month.”
|Additional Benefits to Registration:|
Twenty (20) lucky classrooms that have registered by the February 14th deadline will be chosen at random by Wild Community Relations staff to receive a Wild About Reading classroom visit
