WILD ABOUT READING

Wild About Reading in the classroom

WILD ABOUT READING SUPPORTS "I LOVE TO READ MONTH" IN FEBRUARY

The goal of the Wild About Reading program is to promote the importance of reading and increase student literacy by encouraging kids to read outside of the classroom. Since its inception in 2003, more than 86,000 students from over 1,600 schools throughout the State of Minnesota have participated in the Wild About Reading program.

The 2014-2015 Wild About Reading program offers materials for educators in support of National “I Love to Read Month” by providing elementary school teachers in K-6 classrooms with downloadable Wild About Reading Weekly Rally Posters and Videos throughout the month of February. Each weekly Wild About Reading Rally Poster and Video will encourage kids to keep reading by offering a fun reading goal for students to take on. K-6 elementary school classroom teachers are encouraged to register to have a weekly rally poster and video delivered to them via email every Monday in February. Teachers may also refer a classroom to participate in the Wild About Reading program as well. Eligible classrooms that register to receive weekly posters and videos between January 20, 2015 and February 13, 2015 will also automatically be entered into a random drawing to receive a classroom visit with a Minnesota Wild staff member. To be eligible to win a classroom reading visit, the entering class must be a K-6 Minnesota based classroom.

For those who choose not to register, the same weekly Wild About Reading Rally poster and video will be available to download on Wild.com each Monday in February free of charge. Wild About Reading Rally Posters can be printed and posted in classrooms to keep kids motivated to read throughout “I Love to Read Month.”

All who register will receive a special Wild About Reading Ticket Offer which can be used, subject to availability, to receive discounted tickets (up to 6) to the March 3, 2015, April 2, 2015 or April 6, 2015 Minnesota Wild home games. Location and price of student ticket to be determined by Wild in its sole discretion. Wild reserves the right to modify, alter, terminate or suspend the promotion at any time, for any reason.
