Do you want to strike it rich? The Minnesota Wild and Xcel Energy Center host a 50/50 Raffle to benefit local charities, including the Minnesota Wild Foundation. The Raffle is held at every home game during the season. Raffle tickets may be purchased from doors open through the end of the second intermission at various locations throughout the Xcel Energy Center. Fans may purchase Raffle tickets for $2 per ticket, three tickets for $5, or seven tickets for $10. The winning number, determined through a random drawing, is announced during the third period. One lucky winner takes home half the net proceeds from that game’s raffle ticket sales, up to $10,000. The game’s designated charity takes the other half.
One benefit of purchasing raffle tickets gives fans the chance to cash in on some big pots. However, the benefits go much further than that. All net profits from the 50/50 Raffle benefit local charities that support the game of hockey or focus on children’s medical related causes. During the 2011/12 season the 50/50 Raffle generated more than $102,000 for charity.
