Last season, fans voted Jason Pominville the Bryant "Who's Hot?" Player of the Year, knocking off the previous season's winner Niklas Backstrom. Pominville was a consistent presence in his first full season with the Wild. The wing led the team in goals (30) and points (60), and was one of three players to skate in all 82 games.
Last week’s winner was goaltender Darcy Kuemper, who was hotter than a Dutch Oven on the surface of Mars. The netminder was the NHL’s Second Star, posting two shutouts, a 2-1-0 record, 0.67 goals-against average (GAA) and .972 save percentage (SV%).
This week, Kuemper defends his title against a forward and defenseman. Once again, the 24-year-old backstop was on fire, going 2-0-0 with a shutout, 1.00 GAA and .956 SV%. Up front, Parise had a typical week, scoring a goal, helping out on two others, firing nine shots and earning a plus-3 rating. Finally, defenseman Jared Spurgeon had a big week, scoring a goal, adding two assists, going plus-4 and leading the team in blocked shots with eight.
