Last season, fans voted Niklas Backstrom the Bryant "Who's Hot?" Player of the Year, knocking off the previous season's winner Dany Heatley. Backstrom was a workhorse for the Wild, playing in 42 games. His 24 wins on the season ranked T-first in the National Hockey League. Overall, he posted a 2.48 goals against average and a .909 save percentage.
In the first week following the Olympic break, goaltender Darcy Kuemper continued his scorching play, earning his second Bryant "Who's Hot?" Player of the Week award with a 2-0-0 record, 0.92 goals-against average and .968 save percentage.
This week, we have three new players nominated, including the newest member of the Wild. Up first, Matt Moulson made an impact in his first two games with the team, scoring once, setting up another and registering seven shots on goal. Up next a familiar face, Zach Parise gets the nomination with a goal, assist and 12 shots on goal. Finally, Ryan Suter was a workhorse, with two helpers and skating in 89:50 of ice time in three games.
