Kirk Olson - Strength And Conditioning Coach
Kirk Olson begins his second stint as the Wild’s Strength and Conditioning Coach. He is responsible for developing, implementing and executing all aspects of strength and conditioning throughout the Wild organization.
Olson previously served in the position for six seasons (2003-09). He has been coaching and training athletes for the past 16 years and has spent the last two seasons serving as the general manager of Total Hockey Minnesota in Lakeville, Minn. Olson was training athletes in a private capacity, focusing primarily on the development of hockey players before being hired by the Wild in 2003.
Olson spent three seasons with the National Football League’s (NFL) Minnesota Vikings’ Strength and Conditioning Staff. During his time with the Vikings, Olson also served as Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Amsterdam Admirals of NFL Europe.
In addition to his coaching endeavors, he has served as a consultant to several high school, college and university athletic programs. Olson is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and St. Cloud State University.
