PLAYER SUITES

Cooke's Corner

Matt Cooke has established himself as one of the most charitable men in the NHL. Those efforts continued when he signed with Minnesota, where he donates his “Cooke’s Corner” suite to a different charity each game.

This is nothing new to Cooke, the 2012 winner of the NHL’s Masterton Award, for the “player who best exemplifies qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey.” Cooke donated $5,000 to Defending the Blueline soon after signing with the Wild, in honor of Derek Boogaard, who also wore No. 24 with Minnesota.

Cooke earned the Penguins’ Edward J. DeBartolo Community Service Award for his tremendous time and effort working on community and charity projects. He was also instrumental in formulation of the Cooke Family Foundation of Hope, which provides opportunities and assistance to registered charity organizations within Canada. The Foundation’s efforts focus on those organizations that provide assistance to individuals faced with health, financial and emotional life challenges.

The Cooke’s Corner program brings local charities to the Xcel Energy Center to experience a Wild home game. Guests are able to feel the excitement of a professional hockey game as VIP guests in one of the best seats at the Xcel Energy Center watching the game in the official Cooke’s Corner suite. Their event night includes dinner and beverages along with each person receiving free Cooke’s Corner souvenir t-shirt and goodie bag.

To date, guests from the Autism Society of Minnesota, HopeKids, Defending the Blue Line, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Wishes & More, Gillette Children’s Specialty Care and many more have become members of Cooke’s Corner.
