GAMEDAY: Wild at Canadiens (Preseason)
Following tonight's Minnesota Wild preseason matchup with Montreal, the 2010 auditioning process will be close to complete. Head Coach Todd Richards has said he wants nearly his entire NHL roster to play the final two North American preseason games before departing for Finland on Thursday.
For some players, tonight will be the last chance to make an impression. Several youngsters made a positive impact in last night's 3-2 shootout loss to the Philadelphia Flyers.
Nate Prosser,
Casey Wellman,
Marco Scandella,
Drew Bagnall and
Matt Kassian all made their marks on the game. Scandella and Bagnall are both expected to be in the lineup tonight.
Tonight's Lineup
Forwards: Cullen, Kobasew, Staubitz, Gillies, Miettinen, Brodziak, Clutterbuck, Almond, Kalus, Earl, DiSalvatore, Peters, Latendresse.
Defense: Zidlicky, Stoner, Scandella, Barker, Noreau, Falk, Bagnall.
Goalies:
Anton Khudobin will start with
Matt Hackett as the backup.
What to watch for...
Anton Khudobin will get his first start in goal this preseason. As of now, Khudobin will be Nik Backstrom's backup for the foreseeable future. The Wild will want to see a strong performance from Anton to assuage some anxiety about the sudden departure of
Josh Harding due to a knee injury.
