NEW NAME – SAME MISSION

alt

"…supporting children’s medical related charities, educational initiatives and programs that grow and support youth hockey in the State of Hockey."

Minnesota Sports & Entertainment (MSE), the parent company of the Minnesota Wild, has recently broadened its involvement in business and community activity.

Although the 10,000 Rinks Foundation name served the organization well, MSE has expanded its community outreach efforts via the Minnesota Swarm of the altNational Lacrosse League (NLL); its primary hockey developmental affiliate, the Houston Aeros; and through its facilities including the Xcel Energy Center, Saint Paul RiverCentre, and The Legendary Roy Wilkins Auditorium.  In an effort to make a positive impact on our community and support additional community-based programs related to its expanding business interests, the new name, the MSE Community Giving Fund, better describes the organization’s community involvement. The MSE Community Giving Fund is primarily focused on supporting children’s medical related charities, educational initiatives and programs that grow and support youth hockey in the State of Hockey.

The new MSE Community Giving Fund will look to create new opportunities to give back to the community, while continuing the efforts of many successful 10,000 Rinks Foundation programs including the silent auction tables, game-day program sales, and the Puck Wall program.  New community efforts include Wild Charity of the Month, Gaborik’s Guests, and Wild Wives.

The Fund has contributed in excess of $1.5 million over the past six years and has made significant donations to Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. In addition, the Fund has provided over 50 statewide youth hockey programs with the opportunity to experience a Wild hockey game by selling game programs to raise money to reduce the costs associated with their participation in the sport itself.

The Minnesota Wild remains committed to making a difference in the community and assisting those that are less fortunate through various outreach and grass roots community programs.
