Dutch Schnell

altFor better or worse, Dutch Schnell entered the lives of Wild fans in January of 2002, when the first-ever goalie race was held at the Xcel Energy Center. During intermissions of select Wild games, five goalie racers skate two punishing laps around the rink in an effort to win prizes for the fans in the sections they represent.

Somehow, Dutch, who dons the blue jersey and represents the fans in the lower level, finagled his way to a job, writing columns for Wild.com.

He uses this as a vehicle to offer a unique view of Wild hockey through the sometimes bizarre viewpoint of a goalie racer. He doesn't claim to be an expert, just a fan who loves the Wild.

altDutch doesn't ask that you agree with his opinions. He doesn't even ask you to like him. He just asks that you don't give the time of day to puppy-hating goalie racer, Egg Olson.
