GAMEDAY: Wild at Flames
Minnesota Wild vs. Calgary Flames
WildPlayer
Minnesota Wild (5-5-1: 11 points, 11th in Western Conference, 3rd in Northwest Division) at Calgary Flames (3-4-2: 8 points, T-12th in Western Conference, 4th in Northwest Division)
Doing anything 500 times is a lot. For Mikko Koivu, tonight’s contest against the Calgary Flames will be his 500th career National Hockey League game. The Wild captain has played every minute of his career in a Minnesota Wild sweater, the team that drafted him in the first round (sixth overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. In his career, Koivu has totaled 110 goals and 260 assists. It’s only fitting that he reaches the milestone game against a division opponent. Lifetime against the Flames, the centerman has 20 points (10-10=20) in 43 games versus Calgary. He also is just shy of Marian Gaborik (502) for third on the Wild’s all-time games played chart.

Tonight marks the first of four meetings against divisional foe the Calgary Flames. Last season, the Flames took the six-game season series with four wins. Six out of the Wild’s next eight games will be against divisional opponents.

The Wild will look for its first win away from Xcel Energy Center, going 0-3-1 to start the season. Minnesota will do so with the same lineup as its last outing on Saturday.

The Wild topped the Nashville Predators in overtime, 2-1, on Saturday. Devin Setoguchi scored his first goal of the season 4:21 into overtime, with assists going to Koivu and Ryan Suter. In regulation, Cal Clutterbuck tied the game in the second period with his second on the year, assists going to Suter and Matt Cullen. Niklas Backstrom was strong between the pipes, saving 25-of-26 shots to earn the win.

Saturday night, the Flames were topped by the Vancouver Canucks, 5-1. Lee Stempniak opened the scoring in the first period, but it would be the Flames lone goal. Assisting on the goal were Matt Stajan and Blake Comeau.
Meet The Flames If You're Going
The Flames boast the biggest thorn in the Wild’s skate in Jarome Iginla. The Flames’ captain is the all-time leader against the Wild in points (64), goals (35), and shots (223), is second in games played (68) and PPG (10) and first with a plus-18 rating.

The Flames will be without Miikka Kiprusoff, who is out with a lower body injury. 24-year-old Leland Irving, who has played in three games this season, will be in net for Calgary.
Maybe you’d like to test your luck with a little 50/50 raffle. Even if you don’t win, it’s for a good cause, as all profits from the 50/50 draws go to the Flames Foundation for Life – an organization with the sole mandate of giving back to the community.

The Wild will wear its WHITE road sweaters tonight.
Who's Hot Gameday Media
Scoring in one game isn’t typically something anyone would consider a hot streak, but Devin Setoguchi has been playing well of late. Yes, he did score the game winner in overtime against Nashville, but he also managed five shots on goal. After being demoted to the fourth line, Setoguchi has registered eight shots in his last three games, many from in close around the net area, a place he has been visiting more often of late. Hopefully his first goal will get the ball rolling for Seto.

Fans can guess who's going to be hot with the Wild's HotBox Fantasy Challenge for a chance to win great prizes.

View From The Press Box
This is a clean slate. I don't care what happened the first 10 games or whatever. We're not for making excuses, but at the same time, there was no training camp and there was no exhibition. It takes some guys a little time to get going. That's a real thing. Let's hope this is the point where we start to take off.

- Yeo after Saturday night’s win against Nashville
Forwards Matt Kassian and Torrey Mitchell will be tonight’s healthy scratches, along with defenseman Marco Scandella.

Jared Spurgeon is on Injured Reserve with a lower body injury.
