GAMEDAY: Wild at Kings
Minnesota Wild vs. Los Angeles Kings
Minnesota Wild (21-12-2: 44 points, 3rd in Western Conference, 1st in Northwest Division) vs. Los Angeles Kings (20-13-3: 43 points, 6th in Western Conference, 3rd in Pacific Division)
After yesterday’s Traded Deadline deal, the question on everyone’s mind: Will newly acquired Jason Pominville make his Minnesota Wild debut tonight against the Los Angeles Kings? The forward is expected to arrive in California this afternoon, but we’ll have to wait on his status until Wild Head Coach Mike Yeo speaks to the media before the game.

For tonight’s contest, the Wild recalled center Mikael Granlund from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League. Since being reassigned to Houston on March 12, the 21-year-old has seven points (2-5=7) in nine games.

In the second game of a three-game road trip, the Minnesota Wild looks to get back on track tonight against the Los Angeles Kings. It will be the second meeting of the season between the two teams. The Wild took the first contest of the series in a comeback shootout win, 4-3, on March 30 at Xcel Energy Center.

Last night, the Wild suffered a 4-2 loss to the San Jose Sharks. The Wild fell behind by two the first period, but scored two goals 30 seconds apart in the second period to even the game. Charlie Coyle scored his fifth of the season, capitalizing on a Zach Parise rebound. Dany Heatley scored moments later on a slap shot from the to of the left circle. However, the Sharks answered with two goals to secure the victory. Niklas Backstrom made 29 saves in the game.

At the end of the game, Heatley received a vicious slash from Sharks’ defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic. Heatley skated off the ice in a lot of pain and Vlasic was assessed a five-minute slashing major. Heatley suffered an upper body injury and is unexpected to play tonight.

On Tuesday, the Kings dropped a 3-1 game to the Phoenix Coyotes on the road. Justin Williams scored the Kings’ lone goal. Jonathan Quick made 28 saves in the loss.
Meet The Jewels If You're Going
Anze Kopitar and Jeff Carter lead the defending Stanley Cup champions offensively. Kopitar has 23 points in the last 22 games (6-17=23), while   Carter has 16 goals in the last 24 games and 20 points in the last 27 games (16-4=20). LA has sold out 43 straight regular season games (Dec. 3, 2011 to present). Tonight at STAPLES Center there will be a McDonald’s coupon giveaway.

The Wild will wear its WHITE sweaters tonight.
Who's Hot Gameday Media
Jonas Brodin netted an assist and plus-1 rating yesterday at San Jose. He has an assist in consecutive games and four assists total in his last six games. The 19-year-old is the youngest defenseman in the NHL and is a plus-9 over his last 11 games.

Fans can guess who's going to be hot with the Wild's HotBox Fantasy Challenge presented by the Pioneer Press for a chance to win great prizes.

Speed, skill, competitiveness and as much as anything else this is a quality person.

- Yeo on what Pominville will bring to the Wild
Falk and Nate Prosser will be tonight's healthy scratch.

Matt Cullen (lower body) and Dany Heatley (upper body) are unavailable. Goaltender Josh Harding (treatment for multiple sclerosis) is on Injured Reserve.
Honorary State of Hockey Resident Worthless Stat
D Willie Mitchell skated in 288 games with Minnesota in parts of five seasons (2000-06). The Wild finishes its seventh of nine sets of back-to-back games this season. Minnesota is 4-2-0 on the second night of consecutive games this year, including two straight wins – most recently a 4-3 shootout win versus LA Saturday.  Minnesota is trying to avoid being swept in back-to-back games for the first time this year.
