GAMEDAY: Wild vs. Montreal
Montréal Canadiens vs. Minnesota Wild
Minnesota Wild (6-4-3: 15 points, 9th in Western Conference, 4th in Central Division) vs Montreal Canadiens (8-5-0: 16 points, T-3rd in Eastern Conference, T-2nd in Atlantic Division)
With three days since the team’s last outing, the Minnesota Wild used its time off to get healthy and change some things around.

Forward Charlie Coyle was activated from Injured Reserve yesterday and is set to return to the lineup tonight against the Montreal Canadiens. After a fantastic preseason and training camp, Coyle looked primed for a great start to the season, moving to center after skating on the wing last year. However, only in the Wild’s second game, the 21-year-old suffered a knee sprain. He’ll return to the ice after missing 11 games.

With Coyle back in the lineup, Minnesota has changed things around amongst the forward lines. For the first time since signing with Minnesota, Zach Parise will skate with a center other than Mikko Koivu. Parise will be on the wing with Coyle, along with either Dany Heatley or Justin Fontaine. Koivu will center Nino Neiderreiter and Kyle Brodziak, who moves to wing after playing most of his career at center.

One constant in the last handful of games has been Mikael Granlund and Jason Pominville. The two have developed some nice chemistry, consistently finding one another for offensive chances. Matt Cooke will join them on the wing.

Jonas Brodin and Keith Ballard will both be back in tonight. Brodin has missed the previous three games while Ballard returns after seven games.

The Wild looks to bounce back after a suffering its first regulation home loss of the season on Monday to the Chicago Blackhawks, 5-1. Jason Pominville scored the team’s lone goal with assists from Granlund and Stoner. Backstrom made 23 saves in the loss.

The Canadiens come into Saint Paul on a two-game win streak, edging the Dallas Stars, 2-1, on Tuesday. Carey Price made 26 saves in the win, while Rene Bourque and Michael Bournival scored for Montreal.
Meet the Habs If You're Going
Last season, P.K. Subban beat out Wild blueliner Ryan Suter for the Norris Trophy, as the League’s top defenseman. Offensively Subban has picked up where he left off last season, scoring 11 points (2-9=11) in 13 games. He has a big shot and a bigger personality. Subban has been maligned in the media for his jubilant goal celebrations. He was the first defenseman to record a hat trick against Minnesota on March 20, 2011. Tonight marks the first day of Movember, so the Wild will host a shave-off event at the top of the Xcel Energy Center Box Office at Gate 1. A cavalcade of media members will have their scruff shaved for the month by barbers from Heimie’s Haberdashery. Fans can register to join the Wild Mo Bros team. The first 250 fans to register will receive a Wild Mo Bros t-shirt, package of Jack Link’s beef jerky and a Livestrong mini hockey stick.

The Wild will wear its GREEN sweaters tonight.
Who's Hot Gameday Media
Pominville has scored three goals in the last two contests and has six goals in the last eight games overall. Granlund assisted on Pominville’s last three goals, and has an assist in four of the last five games (0-5=5) and leads the team with eight assists (T-2nd in scoring).

Fans can guess who's going to be hot with the Wild's HotBox Fantasy Challenge presented by the Pioneer Press for a chance to win great prizes.

The guys are excited and anxious to try it out. It's obviously one thing to do it in practice and it's another thing to do it in the game. But so far it's been very positive.

Mathew Dumba and Nate Prosser will be tonight's healthy scratches.

Mike Rupp is still out with a lower-body injury and on IR.

Habs Assistant Coach Gerard Gallant coached Charlie Coyle and Wild prospect Zack Phillips with the Saint Johns Sea Dogs in the QMJHL. Minnesota has scored at least one power-play goal in nine games this season, and entering play Thursday, leads the NHL with 13 power-play goals and ranks fourth in power-play percentage (24.5%). Minnesota has scored two PPG in four games this season, already matching the number of games the feat was accomplished during 48 games last season.
