GAMEDAY: Wild vs. New Jersey
New Jersey Devils vs. Minnesota Wild
Minnesota Wild (7-4-3: 17 points, 9th in Western Conference, 4th in Central Division) vs New Jersey Deviles (3-6-4: 10 points, T-12th in Eastern Conference, T-6th in Metropolitan Division)
Ryan Suter has done it multiple times. Jason Pominville did it earlier this season and notched a game-winner. Now it’s Zach Parise’s turn. Sunday night, the winger will face off against his former team for the first time since moving to Minnesota, as the Wild welcome the New Jersey Devils to town.

Over seven seasons with the Devils, Parise solidified himself as an offensive force, scoring 410 points with 194 goals (194-216=410) and was eventually honored as a team captain in his final year in New Jersey. With quite the history between Parise and his old team he said it will be a little nerve wracking going up against the Devils.

While Parise will battle some old mates, the Wild will look to keep momentum going, coming off a 4-3 win over Montreal Friday night. Pominville netted two goals and an assist on the night as Josh Harding made 28 saves against the Habs.

Head coach Mike Yeo debuted some new lines against the Canadiens, but continued to mix things around throughout the game, looking for the right chemistry. Eventually he put Mikko Koivu and Parise back together on the first line, after splitting them up this week for the first time since Parise arrived in Minnesota, with Charlie Coyle moving to the wing. Coyle will miss action tonight and is listed day-to-day as a precautionary measure. Carson McMillan will step in, but Yeo didn't discuss lines after morning skate, though if yesterday was any indication they will most likely look similar to the third period Friday night.

Though Parise may be familiar with the Devils and what they’ll bring to the table, the Wild and Devils have only a 12-game history. Though New Jersey holds a 5-3-4 edge on the all-time series, they are 2-2-2 at Xcel Energy Center. The last time they met, Parise still had a “C” stitched on his sweater.

The Devils come into Sunday’s matchup fresh off a 1-0 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers Saturday night. Martin Brodeur made 20 saves in the contest.
Meet the Devils If You're Going
New Jersey is fresh off its third shutout loss off the season. Jaromir Jagr leads the Devils with 10 points on the season (3-7=10) while Marek Zidlicky follows with nine points (1-8=9). The first 5,000 fans will get a Kyle Brodziak magnate player card, presented by FOX Sports North.

The Wild will wear its RED sweaters tonight.
Who's Hot Gameday Media
Pominville has five goals in a three-game goal streak and eight goals in the last nine games. He leads the Wild with nine goals and is tied for the team lead with 10 points. His linemate Mikael Granlund is tied with Pominville with 10 points (0-10=10) and has a career-best four-game assist streak (6). His 10 assists this season leads the team.

Fans can guess who's going to be hot with the Wild's HotBox Fantasy Challenge presented by the Pioneer Press for a chance to win great prizes.

I don’t think you want to make into too big of a thing. It’s not like he’s a young kid. He’s played the game enough to know what he needs to do.

Mathew Dumba and Nate Prosser will be tonight's healthy scratches.

Mike Rupp is still out with a lower-body injury and on IR. Charlie Coyle is day-to-day.
Honorary State of Hockey Resident Worthless Stat
Ryan Carter hails from White Bear Lake and went to Minnesota State-Mankato. Marek Zidlicky collected 123 points (25-98=123) in 241 games with Minnesota (2008-12). Jacques Lemaire coached the Wild from 2000-09. Dave Barr was a Wild Assistant Coach from 2009-11.
