ST. LOUIS (AP) -- After 29 seconds, the Minnesota Wild already trailed. Dwayne Roloson was a lot stingier the rest of the game.

Roloson gave up a goal on the second shot he faced, then stopped the last 22 in a 1-1 tie with the St. Louis Blues Monday night.

"Every game we play we get one or two goals so there's a lot of pressure on him," Wild defenseman Andrei Zyuzin said. "He knows he has to stop pretty much every shot.

"If we're going to play like that, one or two goals all season, it's going to be really, really, really tough on him."

Mark Rycroft got the early goal for the Blues and Zyuzin tied it midway through the second period. The rest was all goaltenders as Chris Osgood of St. Louis also made 23 saves.

Doug Weight got an assist for his 800th career point for St. Louis, moving him one ahead of teammate Keith Tkachuk. Weight has 219 goals and 581 assists, reaching the milestone in 839 games.

"It was a great game by us," Weight said. "One missed assignment, really. They made some plays but I thought we played a really good defensive game and couldn't bury the puck."

Tkachuk has 417 goals and 382 assists in 813 games, but failed to score for the first time in 14 games. He had seven goals and 14 assists in that span, but his scoring streak officially was at five games because he missed three games with an ankle injury.

Blues defenseman Barret Jackman, the Calder Trophy winner last season as the NHL's top rookie, left in the first period after reinjuring his left shoulder. Jackman was playing his second game after missing 17 games because of the injury, and played just over one minute before leaving.

"It's frustrating to lose Jacks again after he'd been out for so long," defenseman Bryce Salvador said. "It's another injury we have to go through."

Both teams are slumping. The Wild are 0-2-5 in their last seven games and the Blues are 1-2-1 in their last four.

Rycroft shoveled a backhander past Roloson for his fifth goal during a scrum in front of the net.

"It was just what we needed, but it was just too bad we couldn't get that 2-0 lead and get things rolling," Rycroft said. "Once they tied it, it just kind of turned into a defensive battle."

The Wild didn't get their first shot until 10:30 of the first but shots were even at 17 apiece after two periods. Zyuzin got loose in the slot to beat Osgood for his fourth goal to tie it at 13:25 of the second.

"I asked the players after the first period, 'How was the ice?"' coach Jacques Lemaire said. "They said, 'The puck is bouncing and the ice is not that good.' I said, 'It's a good reason to get the puck in, then."'

It was the Wild's first goal in 203 minutes, 57 seconds dating to last season against the Blues. St. Louis shut out Minnesota 1-0 and 2-0 in the last two meetings in March.
