DETROIT (AP) - Minnesota goalie Dwayne Roloson hasn't felt well for the past three or four games, but you wouldn't have known it by the way he played against Detroit.

Roloson stopped 43 shots and held off a late rally and Brian Rolston had a goal and an assist to lift the Wild to a 4-2 win over the Red Wings on Tuesday night.

Minnesota has won five of its last six and ended Detroit's five-game winning streak. Andrei Zyuzin, Filip Kuba and Alexandre Daigle also scored for the Wild.

Tomas Holmstrom scored both goals for the Red Wings, who were continually frustrated by the Wild's close-checking, trapping system and by Roloson.

``It seemed like they kept us on the outside more than the inside,'' Holmstrom said.

Nicklas Lidstrom added two assists.

Roloson, who has been experiencing flu-like symptoms, made 19 saves in the third period.

``Trying to get through that (the flu-like symptoms),'' he said. ``Battle through it. It's always nice to get a win, especially against these guys.''

He robbed Mathieu Schneider on successive chances from the crease with 2:38 remaining.

``He was awesome. Third period, he made save after save after save,'' said Rolston. ``It's not surprising, but it was huge to get the win for him.''

Holmstrom tipped in Jason Woolley's shot from the point with 2:02 left for his 14th goal of the season to pull Detroit to 3-2.

Daigle scored an empty-net goal with 1:31 left to clinch the win for the Wild.

Minnesota scored on two of its first three shots in the first period.

Zyuzin opened the scoring at 5:55 on the Wild's first shot of the game. He beat Chris Osgood between the pads from the slot. Kuba made it 2-0 just 43 seconds later, when his shot from the point eluded Osgood.

``I just think our desperation at the start of the game was totally different than at the end,'' said Red Wings' coach Mike Babcock. ``You have to be as urgent at the start of the game as you are at the end.''

Detroit was only 1-for-7 on the power play. The Red Wings came into the game with the NHL's top power play and the Wild as the league's top penalty-killing team.

``They're hard to kill penalties against,'' said Minnesota coach Jacques Lemaire. ``You think you have them. You think you're pushing them down and all of a sudden they get the puck between your skates. They send the puck to the guy you just left and they've got a clean shot.''

Detroit made it 2-1 on Holmstrom's power-play goal 6:14 into the second period. He tipped in a shot from the point by Lidstrom.

Rolston, a native of Flint, which is about 60 miles north of Detroit, capitalized on a giveaway by Woolley to put the Wild up 3-1 8:04 into the third period. He intercepted the veteran defenseman's pass from along the boards and put a wrist shot, from the top of the left circle, past Osgood.

``I was just sitting here. They'd been making that middle pass all night,'' said Rolston. ``I just read it and got a quick shot off. The goalie probably wasn't expecting it.''

Notes: Detroit was without captain Steve Yzerman (groin). ... Zyuzin returned after missing three games with the fu. ... Wild LW Derek Boogard returned after missing two games with the flu. ... Lidstrom has 18 points (five goals and 13 assists) in his last 12 games.
