 WCCO Radio (830 AM) enters its eighth season as the official flagship station of the Minnesota Wild. All Minnesota Wild hockey games, including preseason games, regular season contests and Stanley Cup playoff games will be broadcast by WCCO Radio as part of an exclusive radio agreement. Any preempted contests will be heard on "La Mera Buena" KBGY 107.5 FM.

Veteran play-by-play man Bob Kurtz and former NHL defenseman Tom Reid make up WCCO's broadcast team. In addition to their work together with the Wild, the duo was paired together for nine seasons as the television voices of the Minnesota North Stars beginning in 1980. 

The Twin Cities leader in live broadcasting, WCCO Radio is also home to University of Minnesota Golden Gopher sports.

Also as part of the agreement, WCCO Radio is a major community relations, marketing and promotional partner with the Minnesota Wild. The station's web site, www.wccoradio.com, is also linked to the official website of the Minnesota Wild, www.wild.com.

WCCO Radio is a 50,000-watt station that covers 88 counties, including 13 in the Twin Cities metropolitan area and 75 non-metro counties in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and South Dakota. Owned by Viacom, Infinity Media Corporation and CBS, the station can be picked up in more than 28 states and three Canadian provinces during the evening hours. It has been Minnesota's most listened to radio station based on total cumulative audience since 1924.
 


"La Mera Buena" KBGy 107.5 FM will air any preempted Minnesota Wild hockey games during the 2007-2008 season. Hispanics in the Twin Cities, Southern Minnesota and parts of Iowa and Wisconsin are tuning into "La Mera Buena" 107.5, Minnesota's first 24-hour-a-day, 365-day-a-year Spanish language 49,000 watt, FM radio station. With news, weather, traffic, special programming and more, as well as an extensive song playlist featuring the biggest stars in Latin music, "La Mera Buena" has become the radio station of choice for area Hispanics. 

The Minnesota Wild is committed to growing the sport of hockey throughout the state of Minnesota and upper Midwest as part of the Minnesota Wild Radio Network. Through a partnership with Skyview Satellite Networks, more than 30 radio affiliates will broadcast Wild hockey games to thousands of Minnesota fans. The Wild and its radio partners will create and execute a variety of fundraising, educational and inspiring promotional opportunities for youth hockey players in communities all across the region.

The Minnesota Wild and its flagship radio station, WCCO 830 AM, jointly announced today that the station will once again air “This Week in Hockey,” a program devoted to hockey-related content.

“This Week in Hockey” will focus on coverage of the Wild and the NHL and will also include news related to college and high school hockey around the state.
